CALL FOR PAPERS

CLEI Electronical Journal aims to publish a special issue with a
specific focus on Women in Computing. The goal is to publish
high-quality articles with methods, cases and experiences involving
women in CS (computer science), STEM (science, technology, engineering
and mathematics) and ICT (information and communication technologies),
that are accessible and of interest to researchers, educators, and
professionals alike.

Articles may include studies based on qualitative data, such as case
studies and/or historical analysis and studies based on quantitative and
experimental methods, within the scope of the special issue.

We cordially invite you to participate and submit your contribution to
this special issue, which includes (but is not limited to), the
following topics:
– Analysis of the activity and participation of Women in CS, STEM, and
ICT in general.
– Scientific and technological programming contests (hackathons) with
female presence.
– Development of computer applications (games and others) with feminine
themes or developed with a strong participation of Women.
 – Gender and Human Computer Interaction.
– Female leadership models in Computing.
– Gender particularities in the development and implementation of ICT.
– Particularities of gender in the teaching of the CS / STEM / TIC, in
the 5 levels: initial, preschool, basic / primary, secondary and higher
education.
– Participation of Women in decision-making at the national and
international level in relation to the use of ICT.

– Public policies around Women and ICT.
– Social networks on the Internet and the role of Women.

It is expected that all papers should inform the reader of the methods
and goals of the research, present and contextualize results, and draw
clear conclusions.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Papers must be original and not be currently under evaluation. Please
send your manuscript in PDF format using the CLEIej OJS site:
http://www.clei.org/cleiej-beta/index.php/cleiej/about/submissions [1].

Articles must be written in English. Each paper should be at least 12
pages long. Papers must also include keywords and an abstract of no more
than 200 words. Final accepted papers must include an abstract and
keywords in Spanish and, or, in Portuguese.

The standard style is the LaTeX article style (one column) using 10pt.
It is recommended to employ the customized LaTeX class cleiej. A
template together with style files can be downloaded here. Templates for
OpenOffice and Microsoft Office 97/2000/XP are also available. The final
version of the paper, if accepted, must be sent together with the ASCII
text of the title, authors, institutions, abstract, keywords (as well as
optional Spanish/Portuguese abstracts and keywords).  Please check
additional instructions for authors to find the detailed format.

The articles will be peer-reviewed by at least two external referees,
following the standard editorial policy of CLEI Electronic Journal.
