September 2 – 5, 2014, Naples, Italy

We would be very pleased if you could accept this invitation and present a paper in our special session.

We would like to emphasize that our focus is on a thematically broad spectrum of methods to quantify and manage uncertainty. Our aim is to initiate a dialogue between the probabilistic and non-probabilistic approaches and to identify common problems and possible solutions (see attached special session description). The proposed methods may thus range from Bayesian methods to imprecise probability approaches such as evidence theory and fuzzy methods. The presented material may includetheoretical and algorithmic developments, as well as practical engineering applications.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is December 1, 2013. We would therefore, appreciate if you could submit an abstract to your earliest convenience. Please prepare your abstract according to the instructions in the conference web page. Please follow the normal submission procedure and select “CST2014-S08” when asked whether the paper is intended to be part of a special session.
