Abstract: In this presentation we will introduce the audience to the concept of artificial neural network, and then we will continue with a presentation of the main challenges related to this technique that are currently being tackled by the research community. We will end up with a discussion of the possible effects of artificial intelligence techniques in the human society, in general, and Chile, in particular.
