The IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems is the annual flagship conference of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society. IEEE ITSC 2014 welcomes articles in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems, conveying new developments in theory and practice, analytical and numerical simulation and modeling, experimentation, advanced deployment and case studies, results of laboratory or field operational tests. It will be held in Qingdao, a beautiful coastal city, home to Tsingtao beer, Mount Lao – one of the “cradles of Taoism”, and numerous scenery & cultural attractions.

The Industry Track of IEEE ITSC 2014 seeks submissions in two submission categories (full papers up to 8 pages and short papers up to 3 pages) to showcase recent advances in ITS research with direct industry relevance, to discuss emerging trends and challenges with practical implications, and to facilitate interactions among academia, governmental or private research agencies, and industry in this vital area of study of growing interests.

All papers submitted to IEEE ITSC 2014 Industry Track will be peer-reviewed. Compared to the main track of IEEE ITSC 2014, Industry Track papers do not necessarily need to contain major methodological advances, algorithmic contributions, or rigorous experimental/computational validation. Rather, the emphasis will be on industrial innovations, clear practical relevance, interesting lessons learned through significant practice, or advanced classes of applications which might open up new opportunities for interesting academic work. Accepted Industry Track papers will be included in the IEEE ITSC Conference Proceedings, which will be published through IEEE Press and will be accessible through IEEE Xplore. The conference proceedings will be submitted for EI indexing through INSPEC by IEEE. Selected papers of exceptional quality will be invited for submission to a special issue of the IEEE ITS Magazine.

Contributions from industry R&D groups, governmental or private research agencies, policy makers, and academia are welcome. Please visit the conference website at http://www.itsc2014.org/ for submission details.

Experience with many IEEE events shows that papers presented at the Industry Track tend to draw large audience and generate interesting discussions, and many among them become well-cited work down the road. In addition to regular presentation-based industry track sessions at the conference, we will also organize an all-inclusive Industry Poster Session to encourage exchange of ideas between academic researchers, industry researchers, and practitioners.
