The authors are requested to send 1 or 2 page proposal with an appropriate title before 20 November 2019. The proposal should include the summary (or extended abstract of 1000 to 2000 words) of the chapter clearly mentioning the main contents, issues and the goals along with 5 to 10 key words.

About the Book

 

Internet of things (IoT) is an emerging new technology which has utilities in almost all areas of engineering and science. IoT was started as a value added service over the mobile cellular networks. However, very fast it became a pervasive technology which can assist in all leading areas of engineering. In the modern digital ecosystem, IoT is the main technology which would facilitate the connected living paradigm. Industry 4.0 which is regarded as the fourth and the largest industrial revolution in modern human civilization is possible only over an IoT framework. In addition to the IoT, several emerging networks are disrupting the current technology markets. These networks are going to play big roles on the lives of people and businesses across the world. For instance, 5G will change the information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem dramatically. In combination with IoT, 5G is going to change the social landscape to a large extent. However, the research is not going to stop at 5G. Beyond 5G technologies in ICT are already been researched and the progress will continue. Narrowband IoT (NBIoT) is a low power wide area version of the IoTs which needs fewer resources than other forms of IoTs. Therefore it is very much suitable for the large scale deployment of IoTs for the large projects such as smart cities, Industry 4.0, and other large deployments. This can be considered as a greener version of the IoTs. It has a large potential in the long term. Its applications are also pervasive. This is the main motivation for its deeper studies, research, and deployments.  

 

Objectives:

 

The objective of this book is to provide an in-depth understanding on the recent advances on NBIoT, its architecture, deployment issues, and its applications. In addition to the NBIoT, this book would also consider the recent topics on emerging low power IoT networks which are in focus due to their important roles. Submissions should clearly identify how they relate to topics under consideration in this book. Contributions describing an overall working system of NBIoT and reporting real world deployment experiences are particularly of interest. Submitted chapters should contain state-of-the-art research material presented in a clear and easily readable style while adhering to the IGI Global book chapter rules. Thus all the chapters must adhere to the IGI Global book chapter formats with the word limits between 10000 and 12000.

Initially, the authors are requested to send 1 or 2 page proposal with an appropriate title before 30 October 2019. The proposal should include the summary (or extended abstract of 1000 to 2000 words) of the chapter clearly mentioning the main contents, issues and the goals along with 5 to 10 key words. The chapter acceptance/rejection will be notified on or before 25 November 2019. All the proposals should be submitted through the IGI Global submission system at the following link. Please note that the following deadlines should be met for all the submissions.
