I’m Roger Fujii, and I have the pleasure of serving as Chair of the IEEE Industry Engagement Committee, a committee of the IEEE Board of Directors.  I am writing to ask for your support and encourage your Section’s participation in our first ever IEEE Industry Engagement Competition for Sections Congress 2020!

IEEE Sections and Chapters within the Section are at the forefront of member and community engagement and as such, play a vital role in how IEEE is perceived by stakeholders at the local level. Furthermore, the synergy between Geographic Units, Societies/Councils and Chapters is equally important in order for IEEE to have a more coherent approach in industry engagement. 

This competition is designed to help IEEE discover and share some of the best forms of industry engagement being led by activities and initiatives from our Sections around the world. 

Ten (10) Sections will be shortlisted for the finals and 3 Sections will each be awarded a cash prize of $2000 for future Industry Engagement activities.  We strongly encourage each winning Section to fund the travel costs of each submitter to present their winning submission on the Ignite Stage at Sections Congress 2020 in Ottawa, Canada.

If you would please promote/distribute this message and competition submission portal within your respective Sections via email, social media, newsletters and other means, and coordinate the submission on behalf of your Sections, it would be greatly appreciated. We also encourage you to be part of the IEEE Industry Engagement Community and follow/like us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for future industry-related content!

The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2020.
