Dear Colleagues,

We hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and staying safe.

We are reaching out to announce a new series of virtual robotics seminars, “Robotics Today – A series of technical talks”. The goal of the series is to bring the robotics community together during these challenging times.

The seminars are scheduled on Fridays at 1PM EST (10AM PST) starting from this Friday (May 15th), and are open to the public. The format of the seminar consists of a technical talk live captioned and streamed via Web (https://roboticstoday.github.io/watch.html) and Twitter (@RoboticsSeminar), followed by an interactive discussion between the speaker and a panel of faculty, postdocs, and students that will moderate audience questions.

We believe the transition to the online format is not an obstacle to overcome, but an opportunity to re-imagine the traditional seminar series and broaden accessibility and participation via a more interactive Q&A format.

We are running this series as an experiment on online robotics community building, and we are delighted to announce that we have an outstanding lineup of speakers, including:

– Andrew Davison (Imperial College London)

– Leslie Kaelbling (MIT)

– Allison Okamura (Stanford)

– Anca Dragan (UC Berkeley)

Andrew Davison will kick-off the seminar series this Friday, May 15th at 1PM EST (10AM PST)

For more details, you can follow the seminars via:

We look forward to hearing exciting technical talks about the state of the art from top roboticists and engaging in interesting discussions with the entire community.
