This Special Issue calls for original research papers that address object detection and classification in the underwater environment. The topics will include the state-of-the-art techniques, solutions, and applications concerning underwater imaging, image processing, and detection and classification algorithms. The most desirable research constitutes artificial intelligence methods, particularly based on neural networks and deep learning.

Electronics (ISSN 2079-9292; CODEN: ELECGJ, IF 2.412) is a fully open access (unlimited and free access by readers) peer-reviewed journal on the science of electronics and its applications published monthly online by MDPI. The journal is indexed by the Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science), Scopus and other databases. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 13.4 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 3.4 days (median values for papers published in 2019).The Article Processing Charge for Processes papers is 1800 CHF per accepted paper.
