This is Dr. Ioannis Mademlis from the Aristotle University of 
Thessaloniki, Greece. We are a partner in the EU-funded AI4Media 
project, which aims to become a Centre of Excellence in European AI by 
engaging a wide network of researchers across Europe and beyond, 
focusing on delivering the next generation of core AI advances and 
training to serve the Media sector.

AI4Media has recently launched its first open call ( 
https://www.ai4media.eu/open-call-1/ ), which will provide equity-free 
funding for research and applications in AI for Media. The objective 
of the open call is to engage entrepreneurs, companies (e.g., SMEs, 
mid-caps) and researchers that regularly develop and integrate applied 
research in the field of AI, to develop new research and applications 
for AI in the Media sector, and contribute to the enrichment of the 
available pool of research and technological tools.

The open call targets two types of projects, divided into Research and 
Application tracks. Funded projects, which must address one of the 
defined challenges, will receive up to €50.000 each and run for 12 and 
9 months, respectively. Additional benefits include access to 
market-driven services, business and/or research support, and 
visibility and promotion.
