Statistical Horizons will host Advanced Machine Learning, a 3-day seminar taught by Seth Flaxman, on October 13-15.
This seminar expands on topics covered in our introductory Machine Learning seminar, going beyond simple classifications and regression tasks and focusing on more complex problems.
You will gain a deeper understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, and principles underlying various approaches. By the end of the seminar, you will have the skills to:
- Understand the fundamentals of statistical machine learning and Bayesian machine learning.
- Utilize kernel methods and Gaussian processes.
- Develop models with Bayesian probabilistic programming and fit them with MCMC and variational inference.
- Go beyond the basics of neural networks to apply deep generative modeling, convolution neural networks, and recurrent neural networks to complex datasets.
This 3-day livestream seminar will be held via Zoom, but you can also join asynchronously by viewing the recorded videos of each session.
