We are pleased to announce that the digest submission for the SPEC/COBEP 2023 (8th Southern Power Electronics Conference / 17th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference) is now open. The conference is organized jointly by the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) and the Brazilian Power Electronics Society (SOBRAEP), and will take place at the Oceania Convention Center, Florianopolis, Brazil, from 26-29 November 2023.

Florianopolis is the capital of the state of Santa Catarina, in the South region of Brazil. The city has some of the country's most beautiful beaches, being one of the most popular destinations in Brazil for people who are looking for superb beaches, beautiful scenery, interesting culture, and friendly people. The city of Florianopolis is quite modern, with large shopping malls, chain and high-end restaurants, and many glamorous bars and nightclubs.

The SPEC/COBEP offers an ideal opportunity for researchers, engineers, academics, and students from all over the world to bring the latest technological advances and applications in Power Electronics to the Southern Hemisphere. The four-day program includes keynotes by renowned researchers, tutorials and technical sessions on various topics such as theory, analysis, design, testing and recent breakthroughs in power electronics.

We invite researchers from all over the world to submit a digest with no more than five (5) pages following the template to summarize the proposed paper. The digest should include critical equations, figures, tables, and references as appropriate, and references are included within the page limit. No author names or affiliations can be shown in the submitted digests. Digests not conforming to these requirements will be rejected without review. The digests must clearly state the objectives of the work, its significance in advancing the state of the art, and the methods and specific results in sufficient details. All digests will go through a double-blind peer-review process to ensure a confidential and fair review. The papers presented at the conference will be included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

The deadline for digest submission is 30 May 2023. All submitted papers will undergo a peer-review process by the international scientific committee, and authors of accepted papers will have the opportunity to present their work at the conference.
