Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the Special Session on Applications of AI in the Analysis of Cultural and Artistic Heritage, organized within the 35th IEEE International Workshop on Machine Learning for Signal Processing (MLSP 2025), taking place from August 31 – September 3, 2025, in Istanbul, Turkey.
Overview:
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we study, preserve, and interpret cultural and artistic heritage. With the rapid expansion of digital archives, computational methods are now essential for analyzing, classifying, and enhancing historical and artistic materials. This special session aims to bring together researchers from computer vision, AI, and artistic and cultural heritage studies to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and showcase cutting-edge advancements in AI-driven methodologies.

Topics of Interest Include (but are not limited to):
  • Image Analysis & Artifact Classification
  • AI-driven Reconstruction, Restoration and Enhancement of Cultural and Artistic Artifacts
  • Machine Learning for Historical Document Understanding
  • Computational Systems for Creativity
  • Multimodal AI Approaches for Cultural Heritage Analysis
  • AI in Art History and Artistic Style Analysis
  • Understanding AI-generated images in the context of art and culture.


Important Dates:
  • Paper submission deadline: May 24, 2025
  • Notification of acceptance: June 24, 2025 
  • Camera-ready submission deadline: July 15, 2025 

Submission Details:
  • 6 pages full-length papers, including figures and references.
  • All accepted and presented papers will be published in IEEE Xplore.
  • Double-blind review process
