The BigSurv Conference (Big Data Meets Survey Science) will be held for the first time in Latin America, in the city of Quito, from 26-29 October 2023. This is a high-level global and multidisciplinary initiative that brings together academia, industry, and civil society, both nationally and internationally.
As can be seen from the program, distinguished scientists and professionals from around the world will discuss the most innovative topics in data science and surveys, as well as computational sciences applied to social sciences: https://www.bigsurv.org/program23
In addition, within the framework of BigSurv, two vibrant and complementary events will take place:
1. The first event is the Data Challenge on the topic of chronic child malnutrition, in collaboration with the REDNI Foundation (www.redni.org). This topic should concern all of us in the region, and hope young people also participate in this effort. The goal of the Data Challenge is to use data science for the common good, and professionals, students, and researchers interested in the challenge's objectives are invited to participate. Furthermore, winners will receive significant economic prizes. You can find all the information about this Data Challenge at the following link: https://www.bigsurv.org/DataChallenge
2. The second event consists of short courses. You can find all the information here: https://www.bigsurv.org/shortcourses
Online registration ends on 15 October, so we kindly request that you share this information with professionals and young individuals whom you believe may be interested in the BigSurv Conference, the short courses, and the Data Challenge.
Sincerely,
Ana Lucía Córdova Cazar, PhD
Chair of the Scientific Committee of BigSurv23
