Call for Papers CASAXR27

Xi’an, China, June 4-6

 The 40th International Conference on Computer Animation, Social Agents, and Extended Reality (CASAXR 2027) will be held on June 4-6, 2027, in Xi’an, China. 

The conference is organized by Chang’an University, in cooperation with Xi’an Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is supported by the Computer Graphics Society (CGS) , CCF Technical Committee on CAD and Graphics. 

CASA (International Conference on Computer Animation and Social Agents) is the oldest international conference in computer animation and social agents in the world. It was founded in Geneva in 1988 under the name of Computer Animation (CA) by the Computer Graphics Society (CGS). 

In the last past ten years, CASA was held in Switzerland (2016),  Korea (2017), China (2018), France (2019) , UK (2020), Canada (2021), China (2022), Cyprus (2023), China (2024), France (2025), and Switzerland (2026). From 2026, CASA evolved to CASAXR to embraces the growing integration of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies with traditional computer animation and social agents research.

CASAXR 2027 will provide a great opportunity to interact with leading experts, share your own work, and educate yourself through exposure to the research of your peers from around the world. 

 CASAXR27 invites papers on but not limited to:

• Recent advances in Computer Animation and Simulation
• AI for animation and XR environments• Human factors in XR
• Human factors in XR
• LLMs in XR and Animation
• Socially intelligent virtual humans and agents
• Digital humans and avatars
• Immersive interaction and storytelling
• Diffusion Models for Motion Synthesis
• Use cases in medical or any relevant topics
• Agentic AI
• Ethical issues in XR and in generative AI

All accepted papers will be published in the Journal CAVW (Computer Animation & Virtual Worlds) published by Wiley.

* Submission deadline: February 4, 2027

* Preliminary Notification to Authors: March 20, 2027

* Revised papers submission deadline for CAVW journal: April 10, 2027

* Final Notification of CAVW Journal: May 6, 2027

* Author Registration: May 12, 2027 (final deadline)
