PhD and postdoc grants in Medical Image Analysis (Computer Vision and Robotics group) University of Girona Girona, Spain

We have new exciting positions available within the Medical Imaging Lab of the Computer Vision and Robotics Group (VICOROB) to start during 2020. Detailed information about the research group can be found at https://visio.udg.edu/. These positions are associated with the current medical research projects which aim at developing image processing and machine learning (Deep Learning) techniques. In particular, the focus is on the extraction of biomarkers from different image modalities (MRI, US, DBT) and the development of predictive models for different diseases (mainly neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis or breast cancer).

The positions offer a competitive stipend for the graduate students (equivalent to the Spanish research scale). The nature of these positions will provide the students with opportunities to work on interdisciplinary collaborative projects.

Applicants for the PhD Studentships will need to have a good honours degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or another related area. A Master degree (or equivalent) in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or another related area is also essential for this post. High levels of ability in computing and programming skills (Matlab, Python, Keras, Pytorch, etc) are required for the PhD and postdoc positions. Research experience in image processing, computer vision, or machine learning is also desirable. All applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English.
