Bio-inspired computing focuses on abstracting computing ideas (data structures, operations with data, ways to control operations, computing models, etc.) from biological systems. The theories in this field have a deep relationship with theories in computer science and mathematics, while the biological implementation of bio-inspired computing models relies on the development of biological techniques heavily. The 9th International Conference on Bio- I nspired Computing: Theories and Applications (BIC-TA 2014) will be held from Octobe r 16–19, 2014, in Wuhan, China, http://2014.bicta.org/.
We invite authors to contribute original high quality research articles on bio-inspired computing, which report theoretical and experimental results on bio-inspired computing, or the application of bio-inspired computing in various fields. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
DNA and molecular computing
DNA nanotechnology
Membrane computing
Evolutionary computation
Neural networks
Artificial immune systems
Computational neuroscience
Swarm intelligence
Biological computing
