This workshop will explore challenges in the analysis and assessment
of potential developing hazards to advance the research and
development of hazard perception in autonomous driving. This requires
solving the situation awareness by accurate detection and anticipation
of positions, movements and actions performed by multiple road users
(pedestrians, vehicles, cyclists and so on) that are a key to address
the anticipation of a developing potential hazard.

The 18th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE2022)
will be held in 2022 in Biarritz, France, from June 20th to June 23rd.
The demo and video track provide a unique opportunity to showcase
research prototypes, novel ideas and/or future vision of Intelligent
Environment that are difficult to convey in a paper-only format. Demos
allow conference participants to view and try out novel and noteworthy
systems and components of Intelligent Environments in action, and
discuss the systems with those who created them. Appropriate demos
include applications, technologies, and research prototypes. Accepted
demos will be showcased during the conference.
Interested authors are invited to submit their demo videos on the IE2022
topics of interest listed in the conference home page. Submitted videos
will be peer-reviewed for their technical content, communication
effectiveness, production quality, interest, contribution to given goals
and roadmaps, and relevance to IE2022. Demo and video submissions to
IE2022 provide a venue for presentations. This includes (but is not
limited to):
• Demos of innovative research prototypes
• Demos of innovative aspects of intelligent environments
• Demos explaining new ways of thinking about intelligent environments
• Visions of future technologies in the context of intelligent
environments
We explicitly encourage the submission of videos and demos that
complement paper submissions to the full paper tracks and workshops held
at IE2022. Beware that they must represent a self contained contribution
that will be reviewed independently.
Submission Guideline
The demo submission combines a live research demonstration at the
conference with a short paper describing the contribution that will
appear in the IEEE conference proceedings. Submissions must be in PDF
format, up to 4 pages in length and conform to IE2022 publisher
formatting guidelines. More details can be found in « Instructions to
authors » page:

submission combines a video file and a short paper describing the
contribution that will also appear in the IEEE conference proceedings.

EFFICIENT DEEP LEARNING COMPETITION AND WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

Neural networks (NN) have become the most used family of machine
learning algorithms. Among the universality of architectures emerging
now, NNs are still prohibitive regarding environmental impact due to
electric consumption.
In this workshop, we expect to address these issues, based on both a
theoretical and practical deep learning analysis of standard pipeline
and new paradigms. The main theoretical discussions lie on how
mathematical statistics or recent mathematical models can be applied to
learn lighter architectures in order to reduce training and inference.
We also propose to use recent softwares like RAPL and nvidia-smi in a
dedicated tutorial and competition where the energy consumed by deep
learning algorithms will be measured and reduced.
CALL FOR PAPER:
We invite contributions to the 2021 workshop on power efficient deep
learning, and welcome paper submissions on artificial intelligence,
power consumption, AI carbon footprint and related areas. Candidates
must submit a two page proposal on the topic of their intervention. Top
contributions will be selected by a board of reviewers, and they will be
chosen to present their work at the workshop.
This workshop is a non-archival venue and there will be no published
proceedings. The papers will be posted on the workshop website. It will
be possible to submit to other conferences and journals both in parallel
to and after this workshop. At least one author from each accepted paper
must register for the workshop. Please see the ACML 2021 registration.
