Introduction

==========

VCIP is the oldest conference in the field and one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE CAS Visual Signal Processing and Communications Technical Committee. Since 1986, VCIP has served as a premier forum for the exchange of fundamental and applied research in the field of visual communications and image processing. VCIP has a long tradition of showcasing pioneering technologies in visual communication and processing, and many landmark papers first appeared in VCIP. VCIP 2025 will cover new technology frontiers and new use cases, in the visual signal processing and communication areas, to discuss and envision the future of both technology and applications. VCIP 2025 inherits the tradition of previous conferences in providing a fertile ground for researchers, engineers, and professionals from academia and industry around the world.

Workshop on Reliable AI and Uncertainty Quantification in Image Analysis RELAI-2025 – Rome, September 15-19

We would like to invite you to contribute to our workshop on Reliable AI and Uncertainty Quantification in Image Analysis (RELAI-2025, planned as part of ICIAP 2025 (International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing), which will be held in Rome, Lazio, Italy, from 15 to 19 September 2025 (prior to the main conference [https://sites.google.com/view/iciap25]).

As detailed on the dedicated page ([https://relai.isti.cnr.it/]), the workshop will focus on recent advances and modern applications of reliable AI in image analysis and high-stakes domains.

Short papers (12 pages including references) on both methods and novel applications in reliable AI for image analysis and signal processing are welcome. A strong adherence to the workshop subtopics is preferred: Reliable AI in visual tasks, Out-of-distribution detection, Uncertainty quantification methods and applications, and Efficient reliability estimation.
Papers with open-access code that facilitate easy application and reuse by researchers following the workshop are encouraged.

Accepted papers will be included in the ICIAP 2025 Conference Proceedings, which will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS, [https://www.springer.com/series/0558]) .

The workshop will consist of a half-day session with longer presentation and discussion times (20 + 10 minutes), to allow for effective sharing of results and methodologies, or to explore the possibility of establishing collaborations.

The (extended) deadline for paper submission is 23 June 2025.

Hoping for a positive response,
Best regards
