Del 26 al 30 de julio se llevará a cabo la 34º edición de  la Escuela de Ciencias Informáticas, ECI VIRTUAL 2021, organizada por el Departamento de Computación de la Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Este año, debido a la pandemia en curso, la Escuela será virtual y gratuita, por primera vez en su historia (es la edición número 34), lo que permitirá a más gente asistir a sus cursos. Se desarrollará  través de canales de Zoom y un espacio virtual en Discord, donde llevar las interacciones “dentro y fuera del aula”, entre estudiantes, profesores, investigadores, profesionales y empresas que nos acompañarán con sus stands virtuales. La inscripción a los cursos es obligatoria y se realizará del 14 de junio al 16 de julio (http://eci.dc.uba.ar/inscripcion).

La oferta académica de la ECI 34 cuenta con 9 cursos divididos en cuatro ejes temáticos: “Computación e información cuántica”, “Fundamentos de lenguajes de programación”, “Socioeconomía computacional” e “Inteligencia artificial”.

Cada curso tiene una duración de 15 hs. reloj en total (3 horas por día, de lunes a viernes).  El turno mañana (M) se desarrolla de 9 a 12 hs, el turno tarde (T) de 13:30 a 16:30 hs y el turno noche (N) de 18 a 21 hs. Scope and Topics of the workshop

The advent of Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) redefines the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) to make it more compatible with next generation communication networks. The random service demands of end users compel the researchers from industry and academia to rearchitect the old network models and make them open, programmable and adaptive in nature. This new structure will provide real time users with centric service demands. The Internet of Softwarized Things (IoST) is a dynamic programmable system of interrelated and interconnected digital machineries and computational devices with the ability to communicate informative data without the intervention of human beings.

The emergence of cellular networks like 5G, introduces services to cover all possible user to machine, machine to machine communications that provide the optimum QoS (Quality of Service) and QoE (Quality of Experience) to the end users. The openness of the network architecture gives the TSPs (Telecommunications Service Provider) and TNOs (Telecommunications Network Operators) huge flexibility to add, remove, update and modify any network services in no time. Uninterrupted high-quality network services with minimum latency is one of the key features of softwarized IoT in 5G.

This workshop is aiming to get original scientific contributions both in theoretical and experimental research and test case models, detailed experience reports from experimental testbeds that will be extremely helpful in the upcoming technological revolution.  Furthermore, additional focus will be given to areas related to the role of data mining and machine learning in modelling and deploying IoST. It aims to present the most important and relevant advances to overcome the challenges related to security, data analytics, and energy aware solutions in Internet of Things.

This workshop will serve as a forum for sharing experiences and findings relating to protocol design, real testbeds, experimental evaluation, prototyping and empirical characterization of security, privacy, QoS, QoE and other relevant issues in IoST. This workshop will also focus on techniques, experiences and lessons-learned with respect to the state-of-the-art solutions for 5G and B5G (Beyond 5G) and IoST along with some open challenges. The workshop welcomes regular papers and poster papers for demonstrations of novel work / work-in-progress in these emerging areas.  It is also encouraged to submit research works related to development of testbeds, measurement platforms, and innovative prototypes.

About the Workshop
The ICCV 2021 workshop on Computational Challenges in Digital Pathology (CDpath) aims at providing a platform for scientific discussion and presentation of ideas on computational pathology, introducing the challenges of the field. This workshop will focus on the integration of computer vision and artificial intelligence into the digital pathology workflow.

CDpath is jointly organised by INESCTEC (Portugal), IMP DIagnostics (Portugal), Radboudumc (The Netherlands), Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and Google Health (USA).

Smart camera networks are becoming a fundamental piece of our intelligent cities, buildings, and homes, progressively inserting themselves into our lives. From smart surveillance systems composed of a multitude of smart camera nodes to small wearable cameras able to render a visual log of our daily experience, these devices interact with each other and with a wealth of other smart things, and of course the internet. Their rapid development is possible thanks to the convergence of several technologies. From advanced image sensors and vision chips to embedded vision systems capable of efficient feature extraction, image encoding and wireless transmission of the relevant visual content: This technology opens the door to new application domains, where video analytics and the extraction of semantic information from the scene is performed in a distributed fashion, implementing a new type of cooperative and/or collaborative vision.
