AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS: ADVANCES AND APPLICATIONS
– An new interdisciplinary book

Editor: San Murugesan

Autonomous systems will be a game changer. Several such systems are already in use performing different tasks in diverse areas and yielding several benefits. Poised to evolve further, they will surely find widespread adoption. Technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, sensors, drones, robotics, and nano, among others, will extend the capabilities of autonomous systems. Autonomous systems will transform many different sectors in unimaginable ways. They are attracting significant interest among researchers, practitioners and business executives and propelling new research, novel application development, increased investment and new business opportunities.

This unique new interdisciplinary book will provide a comprehensive coverage of various elements of autonomous systems and their adoption – technologies, applications, development considerations, challenges, issues and concerns, and more. The book will discuss several major advances in this area, offer varying perspectives and helpful insights and feature several real-world applications. It will also examine and address regulatory, ethical and socio-technical concerns.

I'm inviting contributions to this book. Contributed chapters must comprehensively cover the chosen topic and be well-written. If you're interested to contribute a chapter, please respond to me (san1@internode.net) by 15th July. Send a detailed summary of your proposed chapter in the following format:

1.    Title

2.    Author(s) – name, affiliation, country, email

3.    Most relevant keywords (5-7)

4.    Comprehensive summary of the proposed chapter (1-2 pages)

5.    Key contributions/features of the chapter

6.    Tentative chapter outline

7.    Brief bio of the primary and co-authors (include your webpage, if any).

EI 2021 Journal-first Closes 15 July

The Journal-first option for the 2021 IS&T International Symposium on Electronic Imaging (EI 2021) closes 15 July, just short of two weeks from today. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to showcase your research in one of two journals (JIST or JPI); therefore, your work is cited as a journal manuscript (vs. citation as a proceedings paper). Further, early submission of your work allows your paper to appear as an EI Fast Tack article in the IS&T Digital Library before the Symposium.

Currently, over 200+ EI Fast Track articles are available online to provide insight into the types of research accepted for the EI Symposium.

Submission Deadline: July 30, 2020 (extended)

EAI is proud to announce that ROSENET is going virtual and beyond borders.

Get the same full publication and indexing, enjoy EAI’s fair evaluation and recognition, present your paper to a global audience, and experience virtual meetings live as well as on-demand from the safety and comfort of your home.

ROSENET 2020 will take place online due to safety concerns and travel restrictions caused by COVID-19. Although we will miss having everyone meet and connect in person, we feel strongly that knowledge exchange must continue, if not more so. That is why we have equipped our online conferences with live viewing with chat, virtual Q&A, and a multitude of other measures to provide you with a great experience. All of this while making the registration for co-authors and non-authors completely free to give you the biggest possible audience. You can learn more about EAI’s online conferences here.

SCOPE
The integration of networks and robotic technologies has become a topic of increasing interest for both researchers and developers from academic fields and industries worldwide. It is foreseeable that big networks will be the main approach to the next generation of robotic research. The explosive number of networks models and increasing computational power of computers has significantly extended the number of potential applications for robotic technologies. It has also brought new challenges to the network’s community. The aim of ROSENET 2020 is to provide a platform for researchers to share up-to-date scientific achievements in this field.

We are pleased to invite you to submit your paper to ROSENET 2020. Submissions should be in English, following the Springer formatting guidelines (see Submission).
