Dear Researchers,

 

The 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Technologies and Applications (INTAP'20) will be held on 28-30 September, 2020. INTAP 2020 will be organized by Artificial Intelligence Research Group, supported by Sir Sadiq Association of Computing and hosted by the Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU), Norway.

 

INTAP'20 will address recent advancements in the field of artificial intelligence that has resulted in a number of emerging fields of research such as Ambient Intelligence, Pervasive Intelligence, Web Intelligence, Bio-Inspired Intelligence, and many more. Emergence in various new fields of intelligent computing has opened new horizons of research and development. It is an important aspect to see that how these advancements in the field of intelligent computing are effecting the human life. Moreover, we are interested to investigate the way of the modern intelligent technologies simplifying decision making and information processing.

The aim of this conference is to provide an internationally respected forum for scientific research in the computer-based methods and technologies of collective intelligence and their applications in (but not limited to) such fields as green computing, ambient computing, ubiquitous computing, power computing, global computing, pervasive computing, etc.

FedCSIS is an annual international conference, this year organized
jointly by the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI), IEEE Poland
Section Computer Society Chapter and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The
mission of the FedCSIS Conference Series is to provide a highly
acclaimed forum in computer science and information systems. We invite
researchers from around the world to contribute their research results
and participate in Technical Sessions focused on their scientific and
professional interests in computer science and information systems.

As in the previous years, FedCSIS 2020 will host a data mining
challenge. It will be organized on a, recently re-designed, Knowledge

The specific topic will be announced shortly, please check the

special session devoted to this challenge at the FedCSIS 2020 conference.

Since 2012, Proceedings of the FedCSIS conference are indexed in the Web

Session organizers arrange quality journals, edited volumes, etc., and
may invite selected extended and revised papers for post-conference

Track 1: Object Detection in Poor Visibility Environments [Register: https://forms.gle/dceUY9hyEsBADzuM6]

A dependable vision system must reckon with the entire spectrum of complex unconstrained and dynamic degraded outdoor environments. It is highly desirable to study to what extent, and in what sense, such challenging visual conditions can be coped with, for the goal of achieving robust visual sensing.
1) Object Detection in the Hazy & Rainy Condition
2) Face Detection in the Low-Light Condition
3) Sea Life Detection in the Underwater Condition

 

Track 2: Face Verification on FlatCam Images [Register: https://forms.gle/qmgESBvqA2pPEq28A]

Despite the easy integration into numerous computer vision applications, FlatCam lensless camera images contain noise and artifacts unseen in standard lens-based cameras, which degrades its performance. This track explores new algorithms to better integrate lensless cameras into the face verification task.
1) Image Enhancement for FlatCam Face Verification
2) Image Reconstruction for FlatCam Face Verification
3) End-to-End Face Verification on FlatCam Measurements

 

Paper Track:

• Novel algorithms for robust object detection, segmentation or recognition on outdoor mobility platforms, such as UAVs, gliders, autonomous cars, outdoor robots, etc.

• Novel algorithms for robust object detection and/or recognition in the presence of one or more real-world adverse conditions, such as haze, rain, snow, hail, dust, underwater, low-illumination, low resolution, etc.

• The potential models and theories for explaining, quantifying, and optimizing the mutual influence between the low-level computational photography (image reconstruction, restoration, or enhancement) tasks and various high-level computer vision tasks.

• Novel physically grounded and/or explanatory models, for the underlying degradation and recovery processes, of real-world images going through complicated adverse visual conditions.

• Novel evaluation methods and metrics for image restoration and enhancement algorithms, with a particular emphasis on no-reference metrics, since for most real outdoor images with adverse visual conditions it is hard to obtain any clean “ground truth” to compare with.

AIM AND SCOPE

Neurodevelopmental deficits (NDD) are defined by the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) as impairments on the development of the brain or of the central nervous system, with a typical onset in early childhood. These disorders are characterized by specific limitations on language, attention or motor control abilities and on a global impairment of social skills (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, specific learning disorder).
Recent years were characterized by a growing interest on the use of new technologies for children with NDD. Social robots, in particular, emerged as tools endowed with a physical embodiment, capable of simplifying the complexity of the social interactions. Experimental evidence suggests how such robots could be used by clinicians as instruments capable of achieving finer diagnoses and as tools for cognitive remediation. Although most research in this field may be regarded as preliminary, the use of social robots in NDD has the potential of achieving a continuous long-term observation of the children, allowing a finer tailoring of the therapies, treating each “unique” child for his/her “unique” problem.
The emergence of socially assistive robots tailored to the needs of NDDs lays on an interdisciplinary effort involving engineers, psychiatrists, psychologists, cognitive scientists, instructors and families. By presenting scientific advances on the use of social robotics in NDDs, the goal of this workshop is to foster new ideas, discussions and interdisciplinary collaborations between all the stakeholders involved in NDDs caring, as well as between research and the healthcare industry.

The main aim of this workshop will be to provide a venue for young researchers to share their recent advances as well as to listen and interact with senior researchers with different backgrounds working in NDDs. This workshop will focus on metrics, models, techniques, algorithms that enable social robots to be effective tools in the NDD care, in clinical contexts, as well as outside the hospital.

Topics of interest will include, but will not be limited to:
– Robot-aided diagnosis;
– Robot-assisted therapies;
– Personalized interactions and tailored interventions with robots;
– Social interaction in joint activities with robots;
– Socio-cognitive skills training;
– Robots as communication partners;
– Attention and engagement measures in NDDs;
– Affective interaction and emotional understanding;
– Imitation, perspective taking and empathy;
– Fine motor skills evaluation;

– Two-page poster abstract submissions will be selected to encourage discussion. The posters will have a 1 minute “teaser” presentation.

VIDEO SUBMISSIONS AND DEMOS

Videos are accepted as contributions focused on showing field activities, interventions and achievements involving the use of social robots in NDDs.

Video contributions according to the following specifications should be submitted by directly contacting the chairs of the workshop.
– Duration: between 5 and 20 minutes.
– Format (only one of the following should be used): mpeg, mp4, mpg
– Minimum video quality: 720p
– Minimum frame rate (fps): 24
– Codecs: Do not use special codecs in order to provide as much portability across platforms as possible.
– Audio is optional, but lack of audio should have minimal impact on the comprehension of the video.
– Structure: The video must include at the beginning a video cover with the title, authors and affiliation and the credits at the end.

Submissions are due on February 29th, 2020.

Time and space for live demonstrations will also be granted to willing contributors.
