Por 6to año consecutivo estamos organizando un entrenamiento para
competencias de programación en la Argentina. Las primeras cinco ediciones
se realizaron en la FCEN-UBA, en la FaMAF-UNC y en la UNLP. Este año se
realizará por primera vez en la UNS.

Tenemos como objetivo formar una comunidad en Latinoamérica en la que todos
los participantes de competencias de programación interactúen para lograr
cada vez mejores resultados para la región. En particular, queremos también
fomentar una mayor participación y compromiso de las diversas universidades
argentinas con la competencia ACM-ICPC. Es por ello que se intenta rotar
todos los años de sede de este entrenamiento.

A lo largo de estas dos semanas les intentaremos proveer a los estudiantes
que asistan al entrenamiento una base teórica para poder afrontar los
problemas de competencias algorítmicas con los conocimientos básicos
necesarios, así como también les daremos problemas para resolver realizando
simulaciones de pruebas similares a las de dichas competencias. También les
daremos a los participantes las herramientas para que puedan seguir
aprendiendo y preparándose por su cuenta.

INTRODUCTION
=============
Over the last fifty years, computational intelligence has evolved from logic-based artificial intelligence, nature-inspired soft computing, and social-oriented agent technology to cyber-physical integrated ubiquitous intelligence towards Pervasive Intelligence (PI). The International Conference on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing is intended to cover all kinds of these intelligent paradigms as well as their applications in various pervasive computing. PICom-2015 is the next event, in a series of highly successful International Conferences on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing (PICom), previously held as PCC-2003 (Las Vegas, USA, June 2003), PCC-2004 (Las Vegas, USA, June 2004), PSC-2005 (Las Vegas, USA, June 2005), PCAC-2006 (Vienna, Austria, April 2006), PCAC-2007 (Niagara Falls, Canada, May 2007) , IPC-2007 (Jeju, Korea, December 2007), IPC-2008 (Sydney, Australia, December 2008), PICom-2009 (Chengdu, China, December 2009), PICom-2011 (Sydney, Australia, December 2011), PICom-2012 (Changzhou, China, December 2012), PICom-2013 (Chengdu, China, December 2013), and PICom-2014 (Dalian, China, August 2014).

PICom-2015 will be held on 26-28 October 2015 in Liverpool, UK. The goal of this year’s event is to bring together computer scientists, industrial engineers, and researchers to discuss and exchange experimental and theoretical results, novel designs, work-in-progress, experience, case studies, and trend-setting ideas in the areas of Pervasive Intelligence and Computing.

PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINE

All papers need to be submitted electronically through the conference website (http://cse.stfx.ca/~picom2015/sub/) with PDF format. The materials presented in the papers should not be published or under submission elsewhere. Each paper is limited to 8 pages (or 10 pages with over length charge) including figures and references using IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style (two columns, single-spaced, 10 fonts). You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Author Guidelines at the following web page: http://www.computer.org/web/cs-cps/

Once accepted, the paper will be included into the IEEE conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press (indexed by EI). At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register the paper at the conference.

Under these circumstances soft computing techniques are proven to be a powerful modelling tool. These techniques are valuable from the aspect of interpretation or they provide easier system design. In this manner, an intelligent approach of system modelling and control is provided i.e. intelligent control systems. The objective of the special session “Soft Computing for Systems, Modelling and Control” is to bring forward interdisciplinary research connecting soft computing modeling and control methods with a wide range of application domains. The general scope is to discuss this issue with the special attention to the challenges of dealing with Big Data. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Multi-valued and fuzzy logic (including Interpolative Boolean algebra, Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, etc.) • Neural networks • Evolutionary computation • Support-vector machines • Hybrid intelligent methods and their application to various domains such as Computer Science, Business and Finance, Quality control, Bioinformatics, etc. Authors are encouraged to submit short manuscripts (up to 6 pages) or abstracts (at least 150 words) to both the organizers and conference online submission system by indicating the title of the special session. The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their manuscripts for publication in international journals. II Latin-American Conference on Bioimpedance – CLABIO

The First CLABIO took place in Joinville (Brazil) on November 2012 and was supported by the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), International Society of Electrical Bioimpedance (ISEBI), International of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Institute of Physics (IOP), Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Level Education (CAPES), Santa Catarina State Foundation for Research Support (FAPESC) and Technological Institute of Joinville (FITEJ). Prof. Pedro Bertemes-Filho was the Chair of the conference. It was submitted more than 100 original full papers from over 7 countries in the World. The articles were per-reviewed and published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series (http://iopscience.iop.org/1742-6596/407/1).

CLABIO 2015 – II Latin American Conference on Bioimpedance is promoted such that research groups on Electrical Bioimpedance from Latina America and the Caribbean may share experiences with other groups from all over the world, mainly from Latin America, by presenting their scientific works and potential innovations in this research area. The social events and networking opportunities will be part of an informal get together in the Uruguayan style, in Springtime (September). The works may cover a broad range in Biomedical Engineering and Computing, Medical Physics and Medical Sciences, Environment, Biology and Chemistry. In addition CLABIO 2015 intends to give students and research groups the time and space to learn more on Bioimpedance as an important tool in biological material characterization and also in diagnosis.

CLABIO 2015 is supported by IFMBE (International Federation on Medical and Biological Engineering), IEEE Uruguayan Chapter and a number of Regional and National Scientific Societies. Furthermore, the ISEBI (International Society of Electrical Bioimpedance) is also supporting the Conference. It is important to mention that the organizers are part of the body of professors, technicians and students from both the Uruguayan University (Universidad de La Republica) and the Brazilian State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and are responsible for the full organization of the event as well as for supporting most of the Invited Lectures.

The articles for presentation at the Conference will be reviewed by an international technical committee of expert referees. The abstracts will be published in the Conference book and the proceedings containing the full papers will be published in a peer reviewed journal. All papers should be prepared following the IFMBE standard format (dowload the template here).

The authors of the works receiving a high rated evaluation during the review process will be invited to produce an extended version to be submitted to the Journal of Electrical Bioimpedance and will be considered for publication under the journal guidelines.
