Authors are invited to prepare abstracts of no more than one page including results and references. Chosen contributions will be invited to submit their post-conference publications into special issues of distinct journals.

Please note, that as a student conference, ISCAMI allows active participation (abstract submission, conference presentation, post-conference publication submission) only to students and to recent PhD holders who have obtained their PhD degree less than 1 year ago. More experienced scholars are kindly welcome as passive participants but they may freely act as co-authors of the student’s contributions.

Venue
———————–

ISCAMI 2014 will be held in a small village Malenovice, near Ostrava, one of the culture and industrial centers of the Czech Republic. Malenovice is a beautiful place lying under the highest peak (Lysa hora, 1323 meters) of the Beskydy mountains with a picturesque view on a valley.

Please note, that the organizing committee will be helpful with the transport of participants from the Frydlant nad Ostravici railway station by shuttling cars. If the transport capacity allows then based on a previous contact a transport from the Ostrava airport or the Ostrava main railway station may be assured as well.

We encourage submissions on a variety of topics, including but not 
limited to:
 
(1) Novel approaches for modeling a single type of heterogeneity, e.g., 
task/view/instance/label/oracle heterogeneities.
(2) Novel approaches for simultaneously modeling multiple types of 
heterogeneities, e.g., multi-task multi-view learning to leverage both the 
task and view heterogeneities.
(3) Novel applications with a single or multiple types of heterogeneities.
(4) Systematic analysis regarding the relationship between the 
assumptions underlying each type of heterogeneity and the performance 
of the predictor;

FUNDING and AWARDS:

CiE 2014 has received funding for student participation from the European
Association for Theoretical Computer Science EATCS.  Please contact the PC
chairs if you are interested.

The best student paper will receive an award sponsored by Springer.

CiE 2014 is the tenth conference organized by CiE (Computability in Europe),
a European association of mathematicians, logicians, computer scientists,
philosophers, physicists and others interested in new developments in
computability and their underlying significance for the real world. Previous
meetings have taken place in Amsterdam (2005), Swansea (2006), Siena (2007),
Athens (2008), Heidelberg (2009), Ponta Delgada (2010), Sofia (2011),
Cambridge (2012), and Milan (2013).

The motto of CiE 2014 “Language, Life, Limits” intends to put a special focus
on relations between computational linguistics, natural and biological
computing, and more traditional fields of computability theory.  This is to
be understood in its broadest sense including computational aspects of
problems in linguistics, studying models of computation and algorithms
inspired by physical and biological approaches as well as exhibiting limits
(and non-limits) of computability when considering different models of
computation arising from such approaches.

As with previous CiE conferences the allover glueing perspective is to
strengthen the mutual benefits of analyzing traditional and new computational
paradigms in their corresponding frameworks both with respect to practical
applications and a deeper theoretical understanding.  We particularly invite
papers that build bridges between different parts of the research community.

The 2014 International FLINS Conference on Decision Making and Soft Computing (FLINS 2014) provides an international forum that
brings together those actively involved in areas of interest to the computational intelligence and its applications, to report on up-to-the-minute
innovations and developments, to summarize the state-of-the-art, and to exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of computational intelligence.

FLINS 2014 proceedings will be again edited as a book by World Scientific and it will be again included in the ISI proceedings as previous ones.

Moreover, a number of SCI journals will devote a special issue to a strictly refereed selection of extended papers presented at FLINS 2014.

– CONFERENCE VENUE: Venice is one of the most interesting and lovely places in the world. This sanctuary on a lagoon is virtually the same as it was six hundred years ago,which adds to the fascinating character. Venice has decayed since its heyday and is heavily touristed (there are slightly more tourists than residents), but the romantic charm remains. The most famous is the area comprising the 118 islands in the main districts that are called “Sestieri” and they are: Cannaregio, Castello, Dorsoduro, San Polo, Santa Croce and San Marco, where the main monuments and sights are located. Other main districts are Isola Della Giudecca and Lido di Venezia. Other important islands include Murano, Torcello, San Francesco del Deserto, Burano, and several others..
