Daniela Lopez de Luise Relief patterns (or geometric textures) can be defined as a repeated pattern of local surface corrugation, independent of the global shape of the object or the photometric properties of the surface.
The analysis of relief patterns has applications in various fields requiring the characterization of regular (or quasi-regular) structures, such as fabric inspection, medical imaging, and the restoration of historic artifacts.
- Pattern retrieval: Given a query mesh, participants are required to identify whether and where the relief patterns present in the query are located on the surface of a 3D model from a retrieval dataset.
- Optional challenge – Pattern segmentation: Participants are required to segment the different relief patterns present on the surface of 3D models in the query dataset.

Submissions to CAIP 2025 should have no substantial overlap with any
other paper already submitted or published, or to be submitted during
the CAIP 2025 review period. All authors should be aware that
the paper is submitted to CAIP 2025. The proceedings of the conference
will be published in the Springer Verlag’s series Lecture Notes in
Computer Science (LNCS), therefore we strongly encourage prospective
authors to respect the submission guidelines.

Second MetaFood Workshop at CVPR 2025 (Deadline Extension)

Daniela Lopez de Luise We are pleased to announce the call for papers for “The Second MetaFood Workshop” at CVPR 2025.
The MetaFood Workshop is a premier venue for research that addresses the pressing challenges of applying state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms to food-related data. While modern computer vision models excel on well-curated datasets, they struggle when confronted with food data in natural, uncontrolled environments—often called “data in the wild”. This difficulty arises from the inherent complexities of food imagery, such as noisy, watermarked, and low-resolution data commonly found online.
The MetaFood Workshop aims to bridge this gap by showcasing groundbreaking research and fostering discussions on innovative methods for analyzing and digitizing food data. We invite the computer vision community to tackle these challenges and contribute solutions that can drive forward the fields of food computing and AI-driven food analysis.
Our program will feature technical paper presentations and invited talks from leading experts.
