Están abiertas las inscripciones para la 21º Escuela de Verano
de Ciencias Informáticas (RIO 2014) que se desarrollará del
17 al 22 de febrero en el Departamento de Computación de la
Facultad de Ciencias Exactas Físico-Químicas y Naturales de la
Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto.

Las inscripciones antes del 03/02/2014 reciben una importante
bonificación.

La Escuela consiste en cursos intensivos sobre temáticas que no
suelen encontrarse frecuentemente en las carreras de grado.
Además ofrece eventos académicos y charlas por parte de los
sponsors de la RIO.

En esta edición se desarrollarán 5 cursos innovadores con contenidos muy
diversos: seguridad, síntesis, programación de GPUs, programación gráfica,
programación orientada a objetos.

We invite you to submit a paper to our special sessions, indicating to which session you are submitting the paper. Please let all of us know as soon as possible if you will be doing this and provide us with a tentative title and the authors of your submission

Submission Guidelines

The submitted papers must be written in English and provide original research neither published nor currently under review by other journals or conferences.
Author guidelines for preparation of manuscript can be found at http://www.ieee-wcci2014.org/Paper%20Submission.htm. All manuscripts should be submitted through the paper submission website only. The authors should follow the steps below:

1.      Identify the conference associated to the Special Session they are interested in, by looking at the “Provisionally Accepted Special Session” list under the column called ID;
2.      Go to the related conference submission website

Overview
========
The CIFEr Trading Competition provides the opportunity for students and other participants to demonstrate quantitative portfolio management skills and computational intelligence techniques in a realistic but simulated trading environment.  Each team will be given a basket of stocks and options, which must be held for the full duration of the tournament, and a quantity of cash, which may be used to purchase options to hedge the static portion of the portfolio.

Trading will be done through a web interface on a simulated market with stylized facts that match the real markets.  Asset prices will be revealed at London close each trading day.  Teams will have until the next price reveal to enter trading actions.

The objective is to come as close as possible to matching a 1% annualized return over six weeks of trading.   An asymmetric and cumulative error function will be used to assess tracking performance.

The competition is open to all, independent of registration for CIFEr 2014.
Prize winners, however, must agree to attend the conference banquet and competition panel session. Each individual or team may enter the competition only once.

Conference Aims

PervasiveHealth is a premier international forum with specific focus on technologies and human factors related to the use of ubiquitous computing in healthcare and wellbeing. The overall goal of the Pervasive Health Conference is to take a multidisciplinary approach to Pervasive Healthcare Technology research and Development.The Pervasive Healthcare Community is addressing a broad scope of research topics and concerns:

  • identify and understand problems from a technological, social, and medical perspective (with a particular emphasis on understanding and supporting patient needs);
  • design, implementation, and evaluation of supporting hardware and software infrastructures, algorithms, and applications; and
  • organisational strategies that facilitate integration of Pervasive Healthcare Technology into the healthcare enterprise.

Traditional healthcare environments are extremely complex and challenging to manage, as they are required to cope with an assortment of patient conditions under various circumstances with a number of resource constraints. Pervasive healthcare technologies seek to respond to a variety of these pressures by successfully integrating them within existing health care environments. Technologies, standards and procedures on their own provide little and or no meaningful service. It is essential that pervasive healthcare environments, through a combined approach of data collection, data correlation and data presentation, assist health care professionals in delivering high levels of patient care, and empower individuals and their families for self-care and health management.The Pervasive Healthcare conference in Oldenburg aims to gather technology experts, practitioners, industry and international authorities contributing towards the assessment, development and deployment of pervasive medical based technologies, standards and procedures.We welcome contributions from the following fields:
