The ACM SIGCOMM 2014 conference seeks papers describing significant research contributions to the field of computer and data communication networks. We invite submissions on a wide range of networking research, including, but not limited to:

Submissions
SIGCOMM is a highly selective conference where full papers typically report novel results firmly substantiated by experimentation, deployment, simulation, or analysis. Submissions can be up to 14 pages in length, in two-column 10pt format. The submission instructions will be posted on the conference website in some time. Note that accepted camera-ready papers will be 12 pages in length, in two-column format with 9pt font.
In addition to the main conference, SIGCOMM 2014 will have a series of co-located workshops, tutorials, a poster and demo session, a travel grant program, and conference best paper and SIGCOMM awards.

Time series: Advanced methods of analysis and forecast

Aims and scope
For a long time, time series processing was the prerogative of statistics. This tradition was broken with the emergence of such modern methods of data analysis as neural networks, fuzzy sets, rough sets, etc. These non-statistical methods are especially useful in the cases when time series are short and/or cannot be characterized as stochastic processes, i.e., time series observations are vague and do not show regular behavior. Typical examples are financial and medical time series.
The aim of this special session is to present recent developments and trends in time series analysis and forecasting including fuzzy time series and granular time series. We are aware that representation and processing of time series are tighty connected. We invite contributions that extend traditional ways of modeling time series and propose adequate methods for their processing. A special focus will be made on processing and forecasting of multi-variate time series.
We expect that this special session will collect fundamental and theoretical results, show other than the approaches mentioned above and overview the existing ones.
We invite contributions focused on (but not limited to) the following topics:

Taking into account emotions (or more generally affects) is currently widely explored to improve the quality of human-machine interaction and to ease the communication with users or potential customers. Affective or emotional computing covers a wide range of issues, challenges and approaches, both for emotion simulation (in particular for new generations of intelligent agents), emotion elicitation, expression and recognition. The latter is declined along several types of modalities and media data, such as physiological signals, facial expressions, speech, text, images and video. Each of these modalities and media raises specific requirements.
Thus, affective computing raises new challenges for computational intelligence, regarding e.g. computational representations of emotions and affective states, on the basis of psychological models, the architecture of systems modeling and processing these concepts as well as dedicated machine learning techniques appropriate to deal with the specificity of the related data.
The special session on Affective Computational Intelligence aims at gathering researchers from the various disciplines contributing to the domain, to offer a global and comprehensive overview of the current state of the art on this challenging and fast developing field.
