ICSC 2025 CFP:

In today’s world, connected systems, social networks, and mobile communications create a massive flow of data, which is prone to cyberattacks. This needs fast and accurate detection of cyber-attacks. Intelligent systems and Data analytics are important components when issues pertaining to effective security solutions become the subject of discussion. This is because there is an impending need for high volume and high velocity data from different sources to detect anomalies as soon as they are discovered. This will help reduce significantly the vulnerability of the systems as well as improve their resilience to cyber Attacks. The capability to process large volumes of information at real time through utilization of tools for data analytics has many advantages vital for analysis of cybersecurity systems. Moreover, the data collected from sophisticated intelligent systems, cloud systems, networks, sensors, computers, intrusion detection systems could be used to identify vital information. This information could be used to detect how vulnerable the systems are to risk factors, and so effective cyber security solutions can be developed. In addition to that, the utilization of data analytics tools in the cybersecurity field gives new insights through considering factors such as zero-day attack detection, real time analysis, resource constrained data processing among others.

The Intelligent Cybersecurity Conference (ICSC) addresses the use of advanced intelligent systems in providing cybersecurity solutions in many fields, and the challenges, approaches, and future directions. We invite the submission of original papers on all topics related to Intelligent Systems for Cybersecurity, with special interest in but not limited to:

  • Intelligent systems for effective detection of cyber-attacks
  • Advanced Intelligent systems and data analytics for Cloud/Edge systems security
  • Malware detection using intelligent systems Vulnerability assessment

  Submissions Guidelines and Proceedings

Manuscripts should be prepared in 10-point font using the IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ two-column format. All papers should be in PDF format, and submitted electronically at Paper Submission Link. A full paper can be up to 8 pages (including all figures, tables and references). Submitted papers must present original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Papers not following these guidelines may be rejected without review. Also submissions received after the due date, exceeding length limit, or not appropriately structured may also not be considered. Authors may contact the Program Chair for further information or clarification. All submissions are peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted papers will appear in the ICSC Proceeding, and be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services and be submitted to IEEE Xplore for inclusion.

Submitted papers must include original work, and must not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of regular papers up to 8 pages and must follow the IEEE paper format. Please include up to 7 keywords, complete postal and email address, and fax and phone numbers of the corresponding author. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the conference. Submitted papers that are deemed of good quality but that could not be accepted as regular papers will be accepted as short papers. Length of short papers can be up to 6 pages.

We are glad to announce FEST: Competition on FEw-Shot Text line segmentation of ancient handwritten documents (FEST), in conjunction with the 19th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition ICDAR 2025.

 

Competition Overview:

Text line segmentation is a crucial component of Document Image Analysis, particularly for ancient handwritten documents. It directly influences subsequent tasks like optical character recognition, layout analysis, and information extraction.

This competition challenges participants to develop systems capable of segmenting text lines using only three annotated images per manuscript for training. The dataset features a diverse collection of ancient manuscripts with varying layouts, levels of degradation, and non-standard formatting, reflecting real-world complexities. By focusing on few-shot learning, this competition aims to encourage the development of methods that can be readily applied by humanities scholars without the need for extensive manual annotation, fostering broader adoption of automated document analysis tools.

 

Competition Tasks:

We challenge the participants to perform the task of textline segmentation on the proposed dataset, U-DIADS-TL, in a few-shot setting, providing only three images, with their corresponding ground truths, as the training set for each of the three manuscripts comprising it.

>> Title of the talk:  Embodied Predictive Processing: New Horizons in Cognitive Developmental Robotics
Abstract:
Cognitive developmental robotics seeks to uncover the mechanisms of human cognitive development by replicating these processes in robots. Since 2020, the field has made significant progress, demonstrating human-like cognitive behaviors in robots. One compelling advancement is the growing focus on predictive processing, a neuroscience theory posited as a unified principle of the brain. This theory offers a clear framework for understanding perception and action through minimizing prediction errors. Our research extends this concept to embodied predictive processing, explaining both continuity and diversity in cognitive development. We propose that the brain minimizes prediction errors through multimodal sensorimotor experiences in a social environment, with a robot's physical embodiment playing a crucial role. In this talk, I will highlight our latest findings, showcasing predictive processing as a unified theory of cognitive development and its implications for the future of cognitive developmental robotics.

The 38th International Conference on Computer Animation and Social Agents (CASA 2025) will be held on June 4-6, 2025, in Strasbourg, France. The conference is organized by the University of Strasbourg and the ICube laboratory. Founded in Geneva in 1988 under the name of Computer Animation (CA) by the Computer Graphics Society (CGS), CASA is the oldest international conference in computer animation and social agents in the world.

 

In the past few years, CASA has been held in Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia. CASA 2025 will provide a great opportunity to interact with leading experts, share your own work, and educate yourself through exposure to the research of your peers from around the world.

PAPER SUBMISSION

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the program committee and papers of high quality will be referred for publication in the Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds (CAVW) journal published by Wiley. The papers accepted as is or with minor revisions will be in a special issue. Those requiring major revision will be given a chance to resubmit and reviewed again by the conference PC for acceptance in a subsequent issue of CAVW. The rest will be either rejected or recommended for publication in conference proceedings. Authors will have to register and present the papers at the conference.
