The Workshop on Requirements Engineering 2025 is now in its twenty-eighth edition. This series of workshops on the area started in 1998 as a meeting of the Ibero-American requirements engineering community. Thereafter, it has attracted researchers and practitioners from different countries. The WER format promotes discussion and knowledge exchange between academic and industry members. As in the last editions, it will also include main researchers and practitioners as invited keynote speakers as well as industry presentations.

TOPICS OF INTEREST*

  • Requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, management, traceability, prioritization, validation, verification, and negotiation;
  • Requirements engineering education and training;
  • Requirements engineering for specific software development paradigms, e.g., agent-driven, aspect-driven, model-driven, service-driven, software ecosystems, or systems-of-systems;
  • Requirements engineering for specific fields, e.g., safety-critical, web-based, or mobile applications systems;
  • Requirements engineering in agile methodologies;
  • Requirements specification languages, methods, processes, and tools;
  • Model-driven software engineering;
  • Regulatory compliance.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submissions must be written in Portuguese, Spanish, or English, but the abstract must be in English in all cases. All papers must be submitted through the Easychair submission system in PDF, according to the LNCS format.

All accepted papers will be published with Open Access at WERpapers repository:

Since it's inception 29 years ago, the International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems has been the go-to event for exploring intelligent systems and their applications. 

With more than 550 attendees and 5 expert speakers in 2025, the annual KES Conference unites our community to connect, educate, inspire and grow. We are honoured to invite you to submit a paper to share your expertise with our community.

Scope

General Track Sessions:


G1: Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks and Deep Learning

This track will cover both machine learning theoretical research and its applications. Contributions describing machine learning techniques applied to real-world problems and interdisciplinary research involving machine learning in different application fields with especial emphasis on the design of those systems, are particularly encouraged.

G2: Knowledge Based and Expert Systems

This track covers knowledge-based systems and expert systems, both theoretical research and its applications. Contributions using techniques in knowledge-based systems and expert systems applied to real-world problems, as well as interdisciplinary research involving knowledge-based systems and expert systems in different application fields, are particularly encouraged.

G3: Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems

G3 track covers both intelligent information and engineering systems (G3a) and Cybersecurity (G3b), theoretical research and applications. Intelligent information and engineering systems is a broad topic and includes contributions describing techniques handling real-world problems. It also includes research involving intelligent information and engineering in different application fields.

G4: Industry Applications

This track covers Industry Applications. Contributions describing industry application techniques applied to real-world problems and interdisciplinary research involving industry applications in different application fields, with especial emphasis on industry, are particularly encouraged.

 

Invited Sessions

An invited session consists of a presentation session of 6 to 12 or more papers on a specific conference topic, organised as half or full day mini-conference. We invite senior scientists who have a special interest in a specific conference topic to take responsibility for an invited session, gathering papers from a range of research expertise around the world.  

Researchers who would like to organise one or more Invited Sessions on topics falling within the scope of the conference are invited to submit a proposal for consideration.

Submission Guidelines and Review Process

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished papers which are not under review for another conference, workshop, or journal by the time of submission. The contributors should address one or more research areas included above.

Extended Deadline for Workshops and Tutorials @ Fifth Conference on Language, Data, and Knowledge (LDK 2025)

workshops and tutorials at the Fifth Conference on Language, Data, and Knowledge (LDK 2025) has been extended to December 22, 2024.

LDK 2025 will take place in Naples, Italy, on September 9-12, 2025, continuing the successful series of conferences held in Galway (2017), Leipzig (2019), Zaragoza (2021), and Vienna (2023). This event aims to bring together researchers from diverse fields focused on the acquisition, curation, and utilization of language data in data science and knowledge-based applications.

Key Dates:

  • Proposal Submission Deadline: December 22, 2024 (Extended)

  • Notification of Acceptance/Rejection: January 12, 2025

  • Workshop and Tutorial Days: September 9 and 12, 2025

  • Main Conference Dates: September 10-11, 2025

All deadlines are 23:59 AoE (Anywhere on Earth).

Topics of Interest:

We invite proposals covering a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Applications of language data and semantic web technologies in domains such as law, medicine, life science, digital humanities, mobility, smart cities, etc.

  • Research areas that have been largely neglected or underrepresented in language data and semantic web studies.

  • Other research areas relevant to language data and semantic web research (such as data science, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, and information retrieval).

  • New emerging topics.
