Digital twins of city spaces, landmarks or industrial environments are important enablers of VR and AR applications in domains such as city planning and maintenance, tourism, media, manufacturing and logistics. Creating high fidelity representations of the real world, and in particular keeping them up-to-date, is still a costly process. Leveraging data that can be captured at low cost, e.g. from vehicles driving through the space to be captured, from robots navigating in the environment, or from consumer media, could significantly reduce the costs and allow for the detection of changes and more frequent updates of digital twins. AI-based methods for 3D reconstruction and scene understanding are enablers for this process.

 

Topics of interest for this Special Session include, but are not limited to:

 

·         3D reconstruction from “in the wild data”

·         Improvement of 2D/3D data representation (e.g., superresolution) in order to update the quality of the resulting digital twin

·         Multimedia analysis for understanding scene semantics and dynamicity

·         Multimodal datasets for digital twin creation and scene understanding

·         Generative AI and foundation models for digital twin creation and/or synthetic data generation

·         Combining synthetic and real data for improving scene understanding

·         Optimized multimedia content analysis for real-time and low-latency XR applications

·         Human interfacing and interaction optimization

·         Privacy and security aspects and mitigations for captured content used for digital twin creation/update

 

The submissions to this session can be:

 

·         Long papers describing novel methods or their adaptation to specific applications or

·         Short papers describing emerging work or open challenges.

 

The review process and the paper lengths and formatting follows the rules of the main conference. The papers will be published in the main conference proceedings, published by IEEE.

 

Submission is done via the main conference submission system (link to be announced, see https://aixvr.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/).

 

Authors are expected to present their papers on-site at AIxVR.

AIMS AND SCOPE

The IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS) 2024 will be the 16th edition of the major annual event organized by the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee (IFS-TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS). The major goal of WIFS is to bring together researchers working in the different areas of information forensics and security to discuss challenges, exchange ideas, and share state-of-the-art results and technical expertise, with the aim of building a community capable of providing adequate tools and solutions to face the challenges of tomorrow.

WIFS 2024 will be held in Rome, Italy, from December 2 to December 5, hosted by Roma Tre University, and it will see the participation of researchers from all over the world, who will allow to have a high-level technical program, also thanks to the expertise of the program committee involved, and who will have the opportunity to exploit an interesting social program taking advantage of the charm of the Eternal City.

CALL FOR PAPERS (DEADLINE JULY 15, 2024)

Prospective authors are invited to submit research papers be up to 6 double-column pages, including references and figures, presenting original works and addressing Information Forensics and Security aspects in a broad sense. The review process will be single-blind (author’s names can be reported in the submitted papers). Accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore. It is planned to organize a special issue with invitations for a selection of the best presented papers.

CACIC 2024 – Llamado a presentación de trabajos

Estimado:

El 31/7 vence el plazo para presentar trabajos en el XXX CACIC que se 
desarrollara en la Facultad de Informática de la UNLP del 7 al 10 de 
octubre en la ciudad de La Plata.

Se reciben FULL PAPERS (10 pág..) o SHORT PAPERS (de 3 a 5 pág.. que 
correspondan a investigaciones en desarrollo o Tesis de Postgrado en 
curso, los cuales si bien no alcanzan la envergadura de un “full 
paper” para el Congreso, puedan significar un aporte para el 
intercambio de ideas).

Asimismo se recibirán SHORT PAPERS-ALUMNOS que pueden corresponder a 
Tesinas de Grado en curso o completadas / Trabajos realizados en el 
marco de una PPS / Proyectos de Alumnos u otra actividad significativa 
que pueda evaluarse como paper y exponerse en una sesión especial.

Si bien el Congreso de desarrollara en forma presencial, los autores 
que no puedan llegar a la UNLP, podrán exponer su trabajo en forma 
remota.

After several very successful iterations of Endoscopic Vision Challenge (MICCAI 2015, 2017, 2018 and 20) and by popular demand, here we are again! In this edition we will focus only on colonoscopy images and, apart from classical polyp detection and segmentation we present an extended version of polyp classification, including the challenging serrated sessile adenoma class.

 

Training data for all tasks have already been released and validation data will be available soon.

 

So, start to think about whether your existing methodology or a new one you’ve always wanted to develop suits this challenge. If so, you are very welcome to our Polyp SMIT challenge 2024. Register now in this website to have access to the training datasets and good luck! We expect to meet you at iSMIT 2024 at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre in Cáceres!
