The goal of SAW is to provide a forum for cognitive science/neuroscience researchers from a range of perspectives who are interested in Perception and Action, broadly construed, to come together to discuss their research and develop new directions and collaborations. The format of the workshop is intended to encourage extensive discussion among participants. To this end, we have scheduled only a small number of invited speakers, and there are no concurrent talks. In addition to the individual seminars, there will be a poster session for students, postdocs and other researchers to present their work.

SAW is powered by the ERA Chair CogBooster, and by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

Workshop Organizers:
Jorge Almeida, Alfonso Caramazza, Paul Downing, Mel Goodale, Zoe Kourtzi, Angelika Lingnau, and Isabel Pavão Martins

Introduction

With the rapid growth in computing and communications technology, the past decade has witnessed a proliferation of powerful parallel and distributed systems and an ever increasing demand for practice of high performance computing and communications (HPCC). HPCChas moved into the mainstream of computing and has become a key technology in determining future research and development activities in many academic and industrial branches,  especially when the solution of large and complex problems must cope with very tight timing schedules.

Among a series of highly successful International Conferences on High Performance Computing and Communications (HPCC), HPCC conference comes to its 25th edition of a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to address the resulting profound challenges and to present and discuss their new ideas, research results, applications and experience on all aspects of high performance computing and communications. IEEE HPCC is sponsored by IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE
Technical Committee on Scalable Computing (TCSC).

HIS 2023 will be a hybrid conference that will run fully in-person and virtually to take advantage of the best the two modalities can offer. Besides regular paper presentations, the technical programme will include 8-10 plenary lectures and poster sessions. HIS 2023 Organising Committee also recognizes the benefits of virtual conferences allowing participation at a cheaper rate. This allows a higher number of research scholars and students to attend. Selected authors can attend and present the papers virtually or in one of the four venues in Europe and Asia.

Proceedings of HIS'23 will be published with Springer Verlag in their Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) series. (https://www.springer.com/series/15179)
