*submission deadline*: June 23, 2023

___ *Aim & Scope* ___

Cultural heritage, especially fine arts, plays an invaluable role in our
societies’ cultural, historical, and economic growth. Fine arts are
primarily developed for aesthetic purposes and are mainly expressed
through painting, sculpture, and architecture. In recent years, thanks
to technological improvements and drastic cost reductions, a large-scale
digitization effort has been made, which has led to the increasing
availability of large digitized fine art collections. This availability,
coupled with recent advances in computer vision, has disclosed new
opportunities, especially for researchers in this field, to assist the
art community with automatic tools to analyze and better understand fine
arts. Among other benefits, a deeper understanding of fine arts has the
potential to make them more accessible to a broader population, both in
terms of fruition and creation, thus supporting the spread of culture.

Following the success of the first two editions (2021, 2022), the
workshop aims to provide an international forum for those wishing to
present advancements in state-of-the-art, innovative research, ongoing
projects, and academic and industrial reports on applying visual pattern
extraction and recognition for a better understanding and fruition of
fine arts. The workshop solicits contributions from computer vision and
pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and image processing.

___ *Topics* ___

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
– Computer vision and multimedia data processing for fine arts
– Creative AI
– 3D reconstruction of historical artifacts
– Point cloud segmentation and classification for cultural heritage
– Content-based retrieval in the art domain
– Smart interactive experiences in cultural sites
– Visual question answering and artwork captioning
– Art history and computer vision
– Projects, products, or prototypes for cultural heritage restoration,
preservation, and fruition

___ *Workshop modality* ___

The workshop will be held in presence.

___ *Submission guidelines* ___

All submissions will be handled electronically through CMT via a link
that will be shared soon.

For the preparation of the paper, please follow the guidelines provided
by Springer. The maximum number of pages is 12, including references.
Papers will be selected through a double-blind review process,
considering originality, significance, clarity, soundness, relevance,
and technical content.

Once accepted, at least one author is expected to attend the event and
give an oral presentation of the paper. Accepted papers will be included
in the Proceedings of ICIAP 2023, which Springer will publish as Lecture
Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).

FRONTIERS Special Topic: Human-Centered Zero-Defect Manufacturing

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce our launched research collection “Human-Centered Zero-Defect Manufacturing”, published in Frontiers in Manufacturing Technology, a community-led open-access title publishing cutting-edge research on manufacturing processes and technology. As Topic Editors, we cordially invite you to submit a manuscript to be considered for publication, following peer review. Further details about the special issue, as well as the submission process are available online at: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/53716/human-centered-zero-defect-manufacturing.

Potential topics of interest for this special issue include (but are not limited) the following areas:

  • AI-empowered defect detection and improvement of manufacturing processes' quality
  • Methods and tools for designing human-centered AI manufacturing systems
  • Manufacturing predictive maintenance using ML techniques
  • Application of XR to worker support and training in zero-defect manufacturing
  • The impact of collaborative robots on zero-defect manufacturing
  • AI-based quality assurance and decision-making in modern manufacturing
  • Case studies of effective zero-defect manufacturing deployments across several industries
  • The role of data analytics in zero-defect manufacturing
  • XR’s contribution to enhance quality assurance and lower manufacturing mistakes
  • How human-centered design can leverage human-agent symbiosis towards producing products with zero defects
  • Process control and optimization with AI and ML in zero-defect manufacturing
  • Explainable AI's role in promoting accountability and transparency in zero-defect manufacturing
  • The potential for self-optimizing manufacturing systems enabled by AI and ML.
