https://ijcb2023.ieee-biometrics.org

***Submissions***

IJCB 2023 will host demos and exhibitions session to provide to participant researchers the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations of their contributions in the area of biometrics. The demonstrations are intended to display, in an interactive setting, new methods and technologies, system prototypes, and experimental features of mature systems.

Demonstrations from the academia, industry and government are welcome. The demonstrations are not limited to papers being presented at the IJCB 2023 conference. We also welcome biometrics-related work that was published at other premier computer vision conferences. The primary requirement is that the topic of the demo falls within the broad context of detection and recognition of standard biometrics (e.g. face, iris, fingerprints) or novel biometrics modalities.

Important points:

• Prospective demo participants should fill out and submit the Application Form (https://forms.gle/KhPT7kzo6VQF5fx1A) with information on the demos, a list of requirements (e.g., space, power, internet) and links to potential videos.
• A 1-page PDF in the IJCB conference style should be submitted via CMT to the Demo and Exhibition track: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/IJCB2023.
• All submitted demo proposals will be reviewed and decisions will be based on the degree of appropriateness and quality for IJCB 2023.

Kindly note that the display and marketing of commercial products must be arranged as part of the sponsor/exhibition program. Demos on the other hand are free of charge.

For further information about demos and exhibitions please contact the co-chairs.

***Award for the Best Demo***

If you are selected to be a demo participant, a voting process (for the best participant) will take place on the day of your demonstration. The quality of the demo capabilities as well as the quality of the presentation will be considered toward the selection of the best participants. The winners will be announced at the IJCB 2023 conference gala dinner.

3rd International Workshop on Fine Art Pattern Extraction and Recognition

                             *F A P E R*  2023

                    Udine, Italy, September 11, 2023
_________________________________________________________________________

in conjunction with the 22st International Conference on Image Analysis
and Processing (ICIAP 2023)

https://sites.google.com/view/faper2023
*submission deadline*: June 23, 2023

___ *Aim & Scope* ___

Cultural heritage, especially fine arts, plays an invaluable role in our
societies’ cultural, historical, and economic growth. Fine arts are
primarily developed for aesthetic purposes and are mainly expressed
through painting, sculpture, and architecture. In recent years, thanks
to technological improvements and drastic cost reductions, a large-scale
digitization effort has been made, which has led to the increasing
availability of large digitized fine art collections. This availability,
coupled with recent advances in computer vision, has disclosed new
opportunities, especially for researchers in this field, to assist the
art community with automatic tools to analyze and better understand fine
arts. Among other benefits, a deeper understanding of fine arts has the
potential to make them more accessible to a broader population, both in
terms of fruition and creation, thus supporting the spread of culture.

Following the success of the first two editions (2021, 2022), the
workshop aims to provide an international forum for those wishing to
present advancements in state-of-the-art, innovative research, ongoing
projects, and academic and industrial reports on applying visual pattern
extraction and recognition for a better understanding and fruition of
fine arts. The workshop solicits contributions from computer vision and
pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, and image processing.

___ *Topics* ___

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
– Computer vision and multimedia data processing for fine arts
– Creative AI
– 3D reconstruction of historical artifacts
– Point cloud segmentation and classification for cultural heritage
– Content-based retrieval in the art domain
– Smart interactive experiences in cultural sites
– Visual question answering and artwork captioning
– Art history and computer vision
– Projects, products, or prototypes for cultural heritage restoration,
preservation, and fruition

___ *Workshop modality* ___

The workshop will be held in presence.

___ *Submission guidelines* ___

All submissions will be handled electronically through CMT via a link
that will be shared soon.

For the preparation of the paper, please follow the guidelines provided
by Springer. The maximum number of pages is 12, including references.
Papers will be selected through a double-blind review process,
considering originality, significance, clarity, soundness, relevance,
and technical content.

Once accepted, at least one author is expected to attend the event and
give an oral presentation of the paper. Accepted papers will be included
in the Proceedings of ICIAP 2023, which Springer will publish as Lecture
Notes in Computer Science (LNCS).

___ *Important Dates* ___

– Workshop submission deadline: June 23, 2023 July 7, 2023
– Author notification: July 21, 2023
– Camera-ready submission: July 31, 2023
– Workshop date: September 11, 2023
