IEEE AR LMAG – Webinario “LUCES Y SOMBRAS DE UN EMPRENDEDOR SERIAL” – Lic. Emilio Lopez Gabeiras

El Grupo de Afinidad de Socios Vitalicios de IEEE Argentina (LMAG) invita a su próximo webinario, a realizarse el jueves 18 de mayo de 2023, de 18:00 a 19:30 AR (UTC-3).

En esta oportunidad el Lic. Emilio Lopez Gabeiras disertará sobre “Luces y Sombras de un emprendedor serial”

Resumen: Con esta charla pretendemos crear un espacio para compartir información sobre el desarrollo de empresas tecnológicas en Argentina, en base a la visión y experiencia personal de un emprendedor argentino.

Disertante: Emilio Lopez Gabeiras

Emilio fundó Intersoft SA en 1983 y fue su CEO hasta 1997. 

Entre 1993 y 2001, fue cofundador y director del Departamento de Ingeniería Informática en la Universidad Austral.

En enero de 1998, fundó Fuego Inc., una empresa pionera en el concepto de BPM, y se desempeñó como CTO hasta febrero de 2006. Durante su gestión, desarrolló un producto líder en el cuadrante de Gartner, logró un crecimiento de ingresos de cero a $20 millones y lideró con éxito la adquisición de la empresa por BEA Systems.

Luego, se unió a BEA Systems como CTO desde marzo de 2006 hasta julio de 2008, donde lideró la transición tras la adquisición de Fuego en 2006, duplicó el tamaño del equipo de desarrollo y dirigió el desarrollo de Aqualogic Business Process Management Suite, logrando un crecimiento de ingresos del producto año tras año.

Desde agosto de 2008 hasta noviembre de 2011, fue General Manager de la línea de productos de Business Process Management en Oracle, donde lideró con éxito la transición del equipo de BPM de BEA a la organización de Oracle, incluida la integración en la línea de productos de Oracle.

De noviembre de 2011 a abril de 2017, fue fundador y CEO de TekGenesis, donde desarrolló la empresa desde cero, creando un novedoso sistema RAD basado en metadatos y aplicaciones de negocio basadas en el mismo. La compañía fue adquirida posteriormente por Mulesoft, donde se desempeñó como VP de Ingeniería, liderando un equipo de 80 ingenieros, integrando con éxito el equipo en la organización de productos de Mulesoft y desarrollando cuatro nuevos productos. También lideró la transición de la organización a Salesforce después de la adquisición de Mulesoft por parte de Salesforce.

Actualmente, se desempeña como miembro del board de la Universidad Austral.

* Semana AADECA – Contribuyendo con conocimiento al desarrollo productivo

Organizada por AADECA, Asociación Argentina de Control Automático, la  “Semana AADECA – Contribuyendo con conocimiento al desarrollo productivo” se realizará del  16 al 18 de mayo de 2023 en la Universidad de Palermo, Mario Bravo 1050, CABA.

Dirigida al público especializado y empresas líderes será un evento que fortalecerá las relaciones institucionales y los vínculos de comunicación; renombrados disertantes analizarán la situación actual, las perspectivas políticas, económicas y sociales del desarrollo productivo en Argentina.

En esta nueva edición, uno de los paneles estará orientado a las tendencias de prestación de servicios remotos en la industria de automatización.

* El Concurso de Desarrollos Estudiantiles, en el que estudiantes de escuelas secundarias y universidades presentan ambiciosos proyectos en temas vinculados con las áreas de medición industrial, control, automatización y robótica.

* Talleres Temáticos y Exposición, en donde las empresas proveedoras divulgan nuevas tecnologías disponibles y exponen sus productos.

* ECI 36 – Escuela de Ciencias Informáticas 2023

La ECI 36 se realizará del 24 al 28 de julio de 2023 en modo presencial.

La Escuela de Ciencias Informáticas (ECI) se lleva a cabo anualmente desde el año 1987 en el Departamento de Computación, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Tiene como objetivo ofrecer a alumnos de la UBA, a alumnos de otras instituciones, a graduados y a profesionales del medio, cursos intensivos de alto nivel de especialización y actualización, sobre temas que habitualmente no se dan en las carreras de grado. Los cursos son dictados por prestigiosos profesores de diversas instituciones, extranjeras y nacionales, lo cual permite brindar a los participantes enfoques variados de los temas tratados y la oportunidad de establecer vínculos de cooperación académica, así como incentivar las actividades de investigación y desarrollo. A las distintas ediciones de la ECI han concurrido entre 350 y 800 personas que tomaron 2 ó 3 cursos cada una, incluyendo estudiantes de universidades de toda la Argentina y de países limítrofes.

* SADIO – 52 JAIIO -Jornadas Argentinas de Informática

* RPIC 2023 – XX Reunión de Procesamiento de la Información y Control

RPIC 2023 – XX Reunión de Procesamiento de la Información y Control se realizará el 01, 02 y 03 de noviembre de 2023 en la ciudad de Oberá, Misiones, organizada por la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de Misiones (UNaM).

La Reunión de Trabajo en Procesamiento de la Información y Control (RPIC), es un encuentro bienal de carácter nacional que se realiza desde 1985 en forma ininterrumpida. El objetivo principal, es compartir el conocimiento y generar vínculos de colaboración entre investigadores, estudiantes y especialistas nacionales e internacionales.

Sus temas de interés son teoría, análisis, proyecto, modelado, simulación y aplicación del procesamiento de la información y del control de sistemas.

ICIAP 2023 is the 22nd edition of a series of conferences organized biennially by CVPL, the Italian Member Society of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).
The focus of the conference is on both classic and recent trends in computer vision, pattern recognition and image processing, and covers both theoretical and applicative aspects, with particular emphasis on the following topics:

** Submission Guidelines ** 

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. Submitted papers must be formatted according to the guidelines of Procedia Computer Science, MS Word Template, Latex, Template Generic, Elsevier, and must be no longer than 6 pages, including all figures, tables and references. 

Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically using the online conference management system in PDF format before the deadline. 

The submission processes will be managed by easychair.org. If you have used this system before, you can use the same username and password. If this is your first time using EasyChair, you will need to register for an account by clicking the “I have no EasyChair account” button. Upon completion of registration, you will get a notification email from the system and you are ready for submitting your paper. You can upload and re-upload the paper to the system by the submission due date.

Procedia Computer Science is hosted by Elsevier (elsevier.com) and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. 

All papers in Procedia will be indexed by Scopus, Google Scholar, Thomson Reuters' Conference Proceeding Citation Index, EI Compendex, and DBLP. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings. 

Highly relevant papers will be selected to submit an extension of their work in EUSPN-2023 and AISC 2023 dedicated Special Issues in top-tier international journals.

ACM GoodIt 2023 Call for Papers

ACM GoodIT 2023 will focus on the application of IT technologies to
social good. Social good is typically defined as an action that
provides some sort of benefit to the general public.

###   Scope

The ACM GoodIT conference seeks papers describing significant research
contributions related to the application of information technologies
(IT) to social good. The latter is defined as something that provides
a benefit to the general public, such as clean air, clean water,
internet access, education, or healthcare. However, new media
innovations and the proliferation of online communities have added new
meaning to the term. Social good can now reflect global citizens
uniting to unlock the potential of individuals, technology, and
collaboration towards a positive societal impact.

The conference will feature regular and special tracks papers,
work-in-progress and PhD papers.

###   Papers length

Full papers (main track and special tracks): papers must not exceed
twelve (12) single-column pages, excluding references. Papers with a
length disproportionate to their contribution will likely be rejected.

Work in Progress Tracks Papers: papers must not exceed eight (8)
single-column pages, excluding references.

PhD Tracks Papers: papers must not exceed five (5) single-column
pages, excluding references.

### Publication of papers

Submitted papers (in each of the special tracks) must be original
works and must not have been previously published. They will be
peer-reviewed (three reviews). All accepted and presented papers will
be included in the conference proceedings published in ACM Digital
Library. At least one of the authors of all accepted papers must
register and present the work in presence at the conference;
otherwise, the paper will not be published in the proceedings.
