International Conference on Software and Systems Reuse, Product Lines,
and Configuration (VARIABILITY 2026)

VARIABILITY is a new conference that has been merged of three prominent conferences
focussing on software and systems variability, configuration and reuse: SPLC (the
International Systems and Software Product Line Conference, 29 successful editions,
ranked as a top conference), VaMoS (the International Working Conference on Variability
Modelling of Software-Intensive Systems, 19 successful editions), and ICSR (the
International Conference on Systems and Software Reuse, 22 successful editions).
The Demos and Tools Track at VARIABILITY 2026 invites compelling live presentations
and submissions of innovative tools, practical demonstrations, and curated datasets that
support research and practice in software and systems product line engineering, reuse,
and configuration.
This track provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to showcase academic or
commercial tools, demonstrations of novel techniques, and datasets that contribute to the
advancement of software and systems reuse, software product lines and configurable
systems. Accepted contributions will be featured both during the main conference (via oral
presentations) and in interactive exhibition spaces (e.g., demo booths or poster/demo
sessions during breaks).
This track provides an opportunity to illustrate the practical impact of new ideas and to
foster interaction between researchers and practitioners that address real-world variability
challenges.
Topics of Interest
We welcome submissions on all topics related to tool support and datasets for product
lines and variable/configurable software systems, including (but not limited to):
Core Product Line Engineering Techniques
• Feature modeling
• Variability management
• Product Line Architecture
• Validation and verification
• Product derivation and generation, including build systems and CI
• Product-line testing and further analyses
• Optimization and measurement of non-functional properties
• Language product lines
Application Domains and Contexts
• Software-intensive and cyber-physical systems
• Web and cloud-based systems, including microservices

• Automotive and industrial automation
• Consumer electronics
• Software ecosystems and multi-product lines
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must describe either (1) a new tool or prototype; (2) a novel extension to an
existing tool; (3) a practical demonstration of an approach; (4) a new or curated dataset
relevant to variability and reuse; (5) a significant update to a previously published tool or
dataset (include a clear description of new contributions).
Each submission must include:
• A paper of up to 4 pages, including references and figures.
• An optional appendix of up to 2 pages (not included in the proceedings), describing the
planned live demonstration or dataset usage scenario.
• A link to a short video (max. 5 minutes) illustrating the tool, demonstration, or dataset
in action.
Papers should briefly describe the theoretical foundation, with a focus on practical aspects
such as software architecture, implementation decisions, usage methodology, and
validation through case studies or benchmarks.
Public availability of tools and datasets (preferably under open-source/open-data licenses)
is strongly encouraged. Where availability is not possible, submissions should explain the
reasons.
All submissions must adhere to the LNCS (Springer) format. Please refer to the official LNCS

Evaluation Criteria
Each submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee.
Reviewers will evaluate:
• Relevance to the VARIABILITY community
• Technical soundness and artifact maturity
• Novelty of the contribution
• Quality of the written description and video demonstration
• Clarity in the presentation of implementation details, usage, or dataset structure
• Positioning with respect to existing tools/datasets/practices
This track follows a single-blind review process.
Presentation and Publication
Accepted papers will appear in the VARIABILITY 2026 Companion Proceedings, published
in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series.
At least one author of each accepted paper must:
• Register for the full conference, and
• Present the contribution at the event.

Emerging and intelligent technologies and systems represent the forefront of innovation in computing, communication, and automation. They combine advances in artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and edge computing, 5G/6G networks, robotics, and data science to create adaptive, efficient, and human-centered solutions. These technologies are transforming industries such as healthcare, transportation, energy, and smart cities by enabling intelligent decision-making, real-time responsiveness, and sustainable development. As they continue to evolve, emerging and intelligent systems are shaping the foundation of next-generation digital societies, offering both opportunities and challenges in terms of security, ethics, and large-scale deployment.
The International Conference on Emerging and Intelligent Technologies and Systems (EITS 2026) will bring together leading researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to present and discuss the latest advances, applications, and challenges in intelligent technologies and next-generation systems. EITS 2026 serves as a premier forum for innovation, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and knowledge exchange across academia and industry. Submissions Guidelines and Proceedings
Manuscripts should be prepared in 10-point font using the IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ two-column format. All papers should be in PDF format, and submitted electronically at Paper Submission Link. A full paper can be up to 8 pages (including all figures, tables and references). Submitted papers must present original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Papers not following these guidelines may be rejected without review. Also submissions received after the due date, exceeding length limit, or not appropriately structured may also not be considered. Authors may contact the Program Chair for further information or clarification. All submissions are peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted papers will appear in the EITS Proceeding, and be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services and be submitted to IEEE Xplore for inclusion.
Submitted papers must include original work, and must not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of regular papers must follow the IEEE paper format. And include up to 7 keywords. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the conference. Submitted papers that are deemed of good quality but that could not be accepted as regular papers will be accepted as short papers. Length of short papers can be up to 6 pages.

The 15th Non-Volatile Memory Systems and Applications Symposium (NVMSA) is a premier conference for new ideas and research results in the area of non-volatile memory systems and emerging memory technologies. This year, NVMSA will be held in Qingdao, China on August 11-13, 2026. Guidelines for Manuscripts
- All papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format.
- The submitted manuscripts must describe original work not previously published and not concurrently submitted elsewhere.
- Submissions must be no more than 6 pages in the IEEE conference proceedings format (two-column, single-space).
- Each paper will be peer reviewed by the program committee members. Depending on the number of accepted papers, authors of accepted papers may be asked to present either a short or long presentation. It is important to note that authors whose papers are accepted for a short presentation do not need to shorten the paper.
- Accepted papers will be submitted for possible inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore's scope and quality requirements.

Methodology in explainability is related to the creation of explanations, their representation, as well as the quantification of their confidence, while those in AI ethics include automated audits, detection of bias in data and models, ability to control AI systems to prevent harm…. and others methods to improve AI explainability in general and trustfulness to AI.
We are witnessing the emergence of an “AI economy and society” where AI technologies are increasingly impacting many aspects of business as well as everyday life. We read with great interest about recent advances in AI medical diagnostic systems, self-driving cars, and the ability of AI technology to automate many aspects of business decisions like loan approvals, hiring, policing etc. However, as evident by recent experiences, AI systems may produce errors, can exhibit overt or subtle bias, may be sensitive to noise in the data, and often lack technical and judicial transparency and explainability. These shortcomings have been documented in scientific but also and importantly in general press (accidents with self-driving cars, biases in AI-based policing, hiring and loan systems, biases in face recognition systems for people of color, seemingly correct medical diagnoses later found to be made due to wrong reasons etc.). These shortcomings are raising many ethical and policy concerns not only in technical and academic communities, but also among policymakers and general public, and will inevitably impede wider adoption of AI in society.
The problems related to Ethical AI are complex and broad and encompass not only technical issues but also legal, political and ethical ones. One of the key components of Ethical AI systems is explainability or transparency, but other issues like detecting bias, ability to control the outcomes, ability to objectively audit AI systems for ethics are also critical for successful applications and adoption of AI in society. Consequently, explainable and Ethical AI are very current and popular topics both in technical as well as in business, legal and philosophy communities. Many workshops in this field are held at top conferences, and we believe ICPR has to address this topic broadly and focus on its technical aspects. Our proposed workshop aims to address technical aspects of explainable and ethical AI in general, and include related applications and case studies with the aim to address these very important problems from a broad technical perspective.
