submissions requested for Ukraine-published international journal Problems of Control and Informatics

Dear Friends,

I am forwarding to you a request from Professor Yurij Kondratenko, Deputy Editor in Chief of a Ukraine-published international journal Problems of Control and Informatics http://jais.org.ua/en/ This journal is published by two institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of the Ukraine: Institute of Cybernetics and Space Research Institute.

In these difficult times for Ukrainian researchers (and for Ukraine in general), one of the ways we can all help is to submit papers to this journal. In 2022, the journal has already published issue No. 1, issue No. 2 is ready and is in process of being published, and the editors are seeking submissions so that referee-approved good papers will form the next issues No. 3 and No. 4.

Information about the topics and submission formats is available on the journal website cited above. At present, the journal only accepts papers in Microsoft Word, but it is planning to eventually allow LaTeX submissions.

Many thanks.

Vladik

ECCV Workshop – 2nd International Workshop on Distributed Smart Cameras (virtual)

we are happy to announce the Call for Papers for the 2nd International Workshop on Distributed Smart Cameras (IWDSC), which will be virtually held in conjunction with the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV).

All the following information is also available at https://iwdsc.github.io/

Apologies if you have received this more than once.

================================================================
About IWDSC
================================================================
Smart camera networks are becoming a fundamental piece of our intelligent cities, buildings, and homes, progressively inserting themselves into our lives. From smart surveillance systems composed of many smart camera nodes to small wearable cameras able to render a visual log of our daily experience, these devices interact with each other and with a wealth of other smart things, and of course the internet. Their rapid development is possible thanks to the convergence of several technologies. From advanced image sensors and vision chips to embedded vision systems capable of efficient feature extraction, image encoding, and wireless transmission of the relevant visual content: This technology opens the door to new application domains, where video analytics and the extraction of semantic information from the scene is performed in a distributed fashion, implementing a new type of cooperative and/or collaborative vision.

The IWDSC team has previously organized 12 editions of the International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras (ICDSC) with ACM as an international forum to discuss recent advances and open issues on these topics.
