10–13 May 2027
University of Calabria
Rende (Cosenza), Italy
Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to contribute to the IEEE International Conference on Cybernetics 2027. Join researchers and practitioners from academia and industry at the Conference Center of the University of Calabria to discuss advances in cybernetics under the theme Towards Smart Humanoid Robotics.
The Call for Papers and the Call for Special Session Proposals are open. Share your latest research or bring together a community around an emerging topic.
Submit your research
Full paper submission deadline: 15 January 2027
We welcome original, unpublished work across cybernetics, with particular interest in humanoid robotics. Contributions to established and emerging areas of cybernetics are equally welcome.
· Humanoid robotics: Perception and sensing; motion and control; cognition and AI; human–robot interaction; applications and deployment; ethics, safety and design.
· Broader cybernetics: Human–machine integration; control systems; biological and hybrid systems; social and organisational cybernetics; ethics and governance; emerging frontiers, including quantum cybernetics.
Paper formats are full papers (6 pages), short papers (4 pages), and poster/demo papers (2 pages). Manuscripts must be in English and use the official IEEE two-column conference templates. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be submitted to IEEE Xplore.
Propose a Special Session
Special session proposal deadline: 1 December 2026
The Call for Special Sessions is also open. We invite focused proposals on emerging topics in cybernetics and its applications, especially smart humanoid robotics and interdisciplinary work connecting cybernetics with AI, human–machine systems, robotics and complex systems.
Include the session title, organizers’ names, affiliations and contact details, proposed duration, a 100–200 word abstract, and key topics.
Send your proposal as a PDF to giancarlo.fortino@unical.it.
Proposal decisions are scheduled for 15 December 2026.
Special session papers follow the regular peer-review process. At least four accepted and registered papers are required for an independent oral session.
Dates to remember
· 1 December 2026: Special session proposals
· 15 January 2027: Full paper submissions
· 1 March 2027: Paper acceptance notification
· 31 March 2027: Camera-ready submission and early bird registration
· 10–13 May 2027: Conference in Rende, Italy
Submit your work, propose a session, and share this call with colleagues whose research fits the conference. We look forward to welcoming you to Calabria.
