Fundamentación: La aplicación del lenguaje de programación R a problemas epidemiológicos, depende en gran medida de nuestros propósitos, de nuestros conocimientos de las técnicas adecuadas y de nuestra competencia en la programación. R posee una amplia ventaja frente a otros lenguajes de programación ya que posee una gama de librerías específicamente diseñadas para la exploración de datos epidemiológicos y para su presentación gráfica, resultando de una sencillez y una eficacia notable.
Objetivos: Se espera que al final del curso los alumnos sean capaces de:
- Incorporar el lenguaje R para el análisis epidemiológico y estadístico básico en su tarea diaria.
- Realizar análisis epidemiológicos aplicando librerías específicas de libre disposición.
Destinatarios: Profesionales y técnicos con conocimientos básicos en lenguaje R y en epidemiología, que se desempeñen en áreas de Salud o Educación Superior. Empleados de organismos públicos y/o privados. Público en general.
Modalidad: Las clases son virtuales a través del campus de SADIO.

Antecedentes de los docentes:
Soledad Represa, Doctora en Ingeniería Geomática, por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (España) y Doctora en Cs. Exactas, por la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, con mención de honor. Docente de la Facultad de Ciencias. Astronómicas y Geofísicas (UNLP). Actualmente, desarrollando una estancia de investigación posdoctoral en el Instituto de altos estudios espaciales «Mario Gulich» (Comisión Nacional de Actividades Espaciales – Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) financiada por CONICET.
Myrian Elizabeth Aguilar, Química, egresada de la Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Universidad Nacional de La Plata. En relación laboral desde el año 2004 con el Centro de Investigaciones del Ambiente (CIM) Unidad asociada a CONICET. Docente con experiencia en investigación y extensión universitaria. Participación en más de 13 proyectos de extensión desde el año 2005. Docente de nivel secundario básico y escuelas técnicas. Seguimiento de alumnos de escuelas Técnicas Pre-Universitarios en Prácticas Profesionalizantes. Coordinadora del Programa “Contaminación y Salud Comunitaria” de la Secretaría de Extensión de UNLP.

Nota importante sobre versión 2020: A diferencia de otros años, esta versión del TAP admitirá la participación puramente online. Es decir, los equipos podrán participar desde cualquier computadora y no necesariamente desde una sede de la competencia. Dada la incertidumbre que tenemos por estas fechas en cuanto a eventos presenciales, no podemos asegurar que ninguna de las sedes mencionadas pueda llevar a cabo algún tipo de evento que no sea online. De esta manera, los equipos tienen dos opciones a la hora de la inscripción en cuanto a la sede:
1) Anotarse en la sede **Virtual** para participar desde donde les sea cómodo. 2) Anotarse en la sede “clásica” que le corresponda. Con el correr de las semanas dicha sede informará si estará en condiciones de hacer algún tipo de evento presencial o no.

Información general:
El 14 de noviembre se llevará a cabo la décima edición del Torneo
Argentino de Programación, en el que compiten equipos de 3 estudiantes
cada uno de instituciones de educación superior de Argentina.
El torneo consiste en resolver un conjunto de problemas algorítmicos en un
plazo de 5 horas. La solución a cada problema es un programa que se envía
mediante un sistema especial al jurado. El jurado corrige en el momento
mediante casos de prueba secretos (test de caja negra) y el equipo se
entera al instante si la solución enviada es correcta, de manera que
puede corregirla y reenviarla tantas veces como sea necesario.
Este torneo se enmarca dentro de la competencia ICPC (The International Collegiate Programming Contest, http://icpc.baylor.edu/).
Se entregarán certificados oficiales de la ICPC, tanto de
participación como de posición obtenida.
Las instituciones que así lo deseen (no es obligatorio) pueden usar el
torneo para seleccionar sus equipos para la Competencia Regional
Latinoamericana 2020.

INSCRIPCIÓN:
La inscripción se realizará entre el 13 de Septiembre y el 31 de octubre
en el sitio https://icpc.global/regionals/finder/TAP-2020.
Cada participante debe tener un usuario y también el entrenador. Los equipos
que no cuenten con un entrenador, pueden inscribir como entrenador a uno
de los participantes, que actuará como contacto principal. La misma
persona puede actuar como entrenador de varios equipos, pero un
participante
solo puede actuar como entrenador de su propio equipo. Idealmente, el
entrenador debe ser alguien relacionado de alguna manera con la
institución que representa el equipo (otro estudiante, graduado,
docente, investigador, etc), aunque para esta instancia no hay
requerimientos
formales respecto del entrenador.
Cada inscripción será confirmada luego del cierre por un organizador local.

AIMS AND SCOPE
Image Question Answering and Video Question Answering are two tasks involving the realization of models able to analyze the visual content of an image or a video, and produce a meaningful answer to visual content-related questions. These tasks both involve spatial, frame-level reasoning. Moreover, Video Question Answering also requires temporal, video-level reasoning which further raises the difficulty of the task. Solving these tasks would represent the ability to train models able to jointly analyze and reason on visual contents and textual contents at a human-level: the obtained models would be able to learn to isolate and pinpoint objects of interest in video (or image), and to identify and reason about their interactions in both the spatial and temporal domains. Image and Video Question Answering thus represent a challenging, but fundamental task in both Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing communities.
The first Video and Image Question Answering (VIQA) Workshop will be held at the 25th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR2020) and will focus on these two fundamental tasks, while covering several tasks in both Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing fields. Given the availability of new large scale image and video datasets, these tasks are getting more and more attention.
The first VIQA workshop wants to gather all the people from academia and industry interested in the aforementioned topics, this in order to stimulate the sharing between participants of state-of-the-art approaches, best practices, and future directions.
A special issue about Video and Image Question Answering is going to be organized in a top journal.

Submissions must be formatted in accordance with the Springer's Computer Science Proceedings guidelines (https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines). Two types of contribution will be considered:

Full papers (12-15 pages, including references)

Short papers (6-8 pages, including references)
Accepted manuscripts will be included in the ICPR 2020 Workshop Proceedings Springer volume. Once accepted, at least one author is expected to attend the event and orally present the paper.
