Abstract:

 

Today, the field of computer vision and deep learning is rapidly progressing into many applications, including remote sensing, due to its remarkable performance. Especially for remote sensing, a myriad of challenges due to difficult data acquisition and annotation have not been fully solved yet. The remote sensing community is waiting for a breakthrough to address these challenges by utilizing high-performance deep learning-based models that typically require large-scale annotated datasets.

 

This issue is looking for such breakthroughs focusing on the advances in remote sensing using computer vision, deep learning and artificial intelligence. Although broad in scope, contributions with a specific focus are expected.

 

For this special issue, we welcome the most recent advancements related, but not limited to:

The objective of this Special Issue is to present recent studies in how the elderly perceive cloud and IoT technology, any technology fears, their desire to engage in the IoT and cloud market, and factors which might help them to do so. The Special Issue also aims to present novel solutions which can be rolled-out to support the elderly in their use of technology, and to examine if contributions are possible from the network management perspective to encourage the elderly in their online use (read more).

This issue will be published in EAI Endorsed Transactions on Cloud Systems an open-access, peer-reviewed journal abstracted/indexed in DOAJ, DLPB CrossRef, EBSCO, EuroPub, among others. It focuses on cloud systems and four technology pillars: mobile computing, cloud services, big data analytics, and social networking. The journal publishes research articles, review articles and editorials with a triannual frequency. Authors are not charged for article submission and processing.

Due to a higher amount of travel restrictions resulting from the spread of COVID-19, iCETiC 2020 will be held in an interactive, live online setting to ensure the safety, comfort and quality of experience of attendees and successful course of the event.

After successfully organising the second conference of this series, International Association of Educators and Researchers (IAER), registered CIC (Community Interest Company) in England and Wales, is happy to arrange the Third International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Computing (iCETiC ’20) 2020, which will be held from 19th – 20th August 2020.

iCETiC ’20 is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE UKRI Section, IEEE UKRI ComSoc Chapter and the Chester and North wales Branch of the British Computer Society. However, iCETiC ’20 Proceedings will be published in the Springer Nature Lecture Notes of the Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering (LNICST) Series, in cooperation with EAI. LNICST series is indexed in WoS/ISI, as well as in Scopus having 2018 CiteScore: 0.45 and SNIP 0.293; SJR 2018: 0.152 (Q4).

The conference will draw together researchers and developers from academia and industry. For inclusion in the Springer-Verlag LNICST series, the papers must adhere to Springer’s Guidelines for Authors of Proceedings.
