The first Machine Automated IQ Test Challenge (MAIQ) at IJCAI’2020

AI benchmarking becomes an increasingly important task for the rapid development of AI research. Meaningful AI benchmarks, such as ImageNet and RoboCup not only provide a standard testbed for comparing different AI approaches, but also significantly promote and stimulate AI research.

As one of the predominant benchmarks for measuring human intelligence, Intelligence Quotient (IQ) test provides a natural and excellent AI benchmark for testing the current development of AI research. For better solving IQ tests automatedly by machines, one needs to use, combine and advance many areas in AI including knowledge representation and reasoning, machine learning, natural language processing and image understanding.

The IJCAI-2020 Machine Automated IQ Test Challenge (MAIQ’2020) contains three categories including verbal comprehension, diagram reasoning and sequence reasoning, all questions are collected from genuine IQ Test questions for human being. By given a SDK and some dataset, participants are required to develop programs to solve these problems automatically.

Finalists are invited to attend IJCAI’2020 for the on-site competition, on which the final ranking will be made and announced. Also, finalists are strongly encouraged to open their source codes as well as to submit a paper describing how their systems work.

The champion and the runner-up teams are requested either to open their source code or to submit a system paper.

Call for Contributions

The workshop aims to foster research around a timely and crucial topic for the present digitized society: the fairness, accountability, transparency and ethics of multimedia algorithms. The workshop has a strong scientific link with the FAT/ML workshop, satellite of ICML, and the ACM FAT* conference. Differently from FAT/ML, which is anchored in machine learning, the FATE/MM workshop addresses fairness, accountability, transparency and ethics in multimedia processing, retrieval, categorization and applications. More precisely, we expect submissions covering any topic closely related to the multimedia community AND falling in one (or many) of the following categories:

Models

  • Techniques and models for fairness-aware multimedia modeling, multimedia information retrieval, and recommendation.
  • Interpretable and explainable models in multimedia.
  • Models and frameworks for conducting FATE audits of multimedia systems.
  • Models for addressing inclusion and exclusion in multimedia.

Algorithm evaluation

  • Qualitative, quantitative, and experimental studies on subjective perceptions of algorithmic bias, unfairness and ethical issues.
  • Experimental results of FATE audits of multimedia systems.
  • Objective metrics for measuring unfairness and bias in multimedia.
  • Generation of human-readable explanations for multimedia models and algorithmic outputs.
  • Metrics for measuring inclusiveness in multimedia systems.

Data collection and curation

  • Defining, measuring and mitigating problematic biases in multimedia datasets.
  • Ethical issues in multimedia data collection processes.
  • Improvement of data collection processes to be more fair, diverse, and inclusive.
  • Data collection regarding potential unfairness in systems and ethical consequences.

Applications

  • Research on fair and transparent multimedia tools and applications
  • Ethical design and/or usage of multimedia tools and applications

This issue will be published in EAI Endorsed Transactions on Smart Cities an open-access, peer-reviewed journal indexed in CrossRef, OCLC, EuroPub, Publons among others. It focuses on applications for Smart Cities with leverage on big-data applications, ICT devices used in factory of the future, HPC, industrial processes, energy efficiency systems, social platforms and more. The journal publishes research articles, review articles and editorials with a triannual frequency. Authors are not charged for article submission and processing.

Challenge: Network Device Workload Prediction

FedCSIS 2020 Data Mining Challenge: Network Device Workload Prediction
is the seventh data mining competition organized in association with
Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems
(https://fedcsis.org/). This time, the considered task is related to the
monitoring of large IT infrastructures and the estimation of their
resource allocation. The challenge is sponsored by EMCA Software and
Polish Information Processing Society (PTI).

OVERVIEW:
EMCA Software is a Polish vendor of Energy Logserver – a system capable
of collecting data from various log sources to provide in-depth data
analysis and alerting to its end-users. EMCA is based in Poland but also
operates in Nordics, APAC, and the USA, through the partner channels.
The company focuses on cybersecurity and IT infrastructure monitoring
use cases, intending to deliver a system that is ready-to-use and offers
inbox correlations and predictions on monitored data.

By this challenge, we want to help EMCA to answer the question of
whether it is possible to reliably predict workload-related
characteristics of monitored devices, based on historical data gathered
from such devices. This task is of paramount importance for IT and
technical teams that can put their hands on a tool that allows them to
manage the capacity of their infrastructure.

An additional difficulty within this challenge, and also the reason why
it might be especially interesting for the data science community,
arises from the fact that devices considered in the data are not
uniform. In essence, logs cover readings from various types of hardware.
Some of them are cross-dependent, as they are a part of the same IT
system. Moreover, some devices have multiple interfaces for which the
data is aggregated.

SPECIAL SESSION at FedCSIS 2020:
As in previous years, a special session devoted to the competition will
be held at the conference. We will invite authors of selected challenge
reports to extend them for publication in the conference proceedings
(after reviews by Organizing Committee members) and presentation at the
conference. The papers will be indexed by the IEEE Digital Library and
Web of Science. The invited teams will be chosen based on their final
rank, innovativeness of their approach, and quality of the submitted report.

AWARDS:
Authors of the top-ranked solutions (based on the final evaluation
scores) will be awarded prizes funded by our sponsors:

First Prize: 1500 USD + one free FedCSIS'20 conference registration,
Second Prize: 1000 USD + one free FedCSIS'20 conference registration,
Third Prize: 500 USD + one free FedCSIS'20 conference registration.
The award ceremony will take place during the FedCSIS'20 conference.
Please note that the winners will only be eligible for the money prizes
only if their final score exceeds the baseline solution score by at
least 10%.
