On behalf of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and IEEE SPS Autonomous Systems Initiative (ASI), the organizing committee is delighted to invite you to the IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Systems (ICAS 2020), to be held in Montréal, Québec, Canada between August 12 and August 14, 2020. The IEEE ICAS 2020 will be a premier international forum for presenting the technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied Autonomous Systems (AS).

Over the last decade, researchers have been proposing and investigating computing systems with advanced levels of autonomy in order to manage the ever-increasing requirements in complexity. An autonomous system is an artificial system able to perform a certain number of tasks with a high degree of autonomy. Signal Processing plays a key role within autonomous systems by providing theories and techniques to design algorithms used for perception, control and learning within an autonomous system. This IEEE ICAS 2020 conference is focused on providing an updated state of the art over most advanced signal processing theories and techniques that are relevant for developing autonomous systems.

The 33rd International Conference on Computer Animation and Social Agents (CASA 2020), that will be held on July 1-3, 2020 in Bournemouth, UK. The conference is organized by Bournemouth University together with the Computer Graphics Society (CGS). CASA is the oldest international conference in computer animation and social agents in the world. It was founded in Geneva in 1988 under the name of Computer Animation (CA). In the last past ten years, CASA was held in Belgium (2007), Korea (2008), Netherlands (2009), France (2010), China (2011), Singapore (2012), Turkey (2013), United States (2014), Singapore (2015), Switzerland (2016), Korea (2017), China (2018) and France (2019).

CASA 2020 will provide a great opportunity to interact with leading experts, share your own work, and educate yourself through exposure to the research of your peers from around the world.

PAPER SUBMISSION

 

We invite submissions of research full papers, short papers, and posters on a broad range of topics, including but not limited to Computer Animation, Embodied Agents, Social Agents, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and Visualization (see below for a detailed list).

Papers submitted by 16th March 2020 will be considered for the special issue of Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds (CAVW) published by Wiley. The papers accepted as is or with minor revision will be in the special issue, about 28 papers in total. Those with major revision will be given a chance to resubmit and reviewed again by the conference PC for acceptance in a subsequent issue of CAVW. The rest will be either rejected or recommended for publication in conference proceeding. Authors will have to register and present the papers at the conference.

Papers submitted by 20th April 2020 will be considered for publication in a subsequent issue of CAVW and conference proceeding. The papers accepted as is or with minor revision will be in the subsequent issue. Those with major revision will be invited to resubmit and reviewed again by the conference PC for acceptance in a subsequent issue of CAVW. The rest will be either accepted for publication in the conference proceeding or rejected. Authors will have to register and present the papers at the conference.

INTRODUCTION
=============

 Over the last fifty years, computational intelligence has evolved
from logic-based artificial intelligence, nature-inspired soft
computing, and social-oriented agent technology to cyber-physical
integrated ubiquitous intelligence towards Pervasive Intelligence
(PI). The International Conference on Pervasive Intelligence and
Computing is intended to cover all kinds of these intelligent
paradigms as well as their applications in various pervasive computing
domains. PICom-2019 is the conference on Pervasive Intelligence and
Computing, previously held as PCC (Las Vegas, USA, 2003 and 2004), PSC
(Las Vegas, USA, 2005), PCAC (Vienna, Austria, 2006, and Niagara
Falls, Canada, 2007), IPC-2007 (Jeju, Korea, December 2007), IPC-2008
(Sydney, Australia, December 2008), and since 2009 as the name PICom.
IEEE PICom 2020 will be held on 22-26 June 2020 in Calgary, Canada,
co-located with IEEE DASC 2020 CBDCom 2020 and IEEE CyberSciTech 2020.
It aims to bring together computer scientists and engineers, to
discuss and exchange experimental and theoretical results,
work-in-progress, novel designs, and test-environments or test-beds in
the important areas of Pervasive Intelligence and Computing.

 DESCRIPTION

Data fusion is crucial in almost every application of artificial intelligence. Classification, image processing, decision-making, big data or deep learning require collecting data and fusing them in appropriate ways in order to solve specific problems. For this reason, a huge effort is devoted to the developments and analysis of data fusion methods.

Aggregation functions are one of the most widely used methods in this sense. They are defined as monotone functions with appropriate boundary conditions and include, among others, most of the means or functions such as the product, the minimum or the maximum. However, in recent years it has been shown that the concept of aggregation function can be too restrictive, as it does not cover some examples which can provide good results in particular applications, as it is the case of the mode.

Furthermore, some data fusion functions more general than aggregations,  the so called pre-aggregation functions, have been proposed to deal with problems ranging from classification to the computational brain, with very promising results.

In this workshop, we intend to review the most recent developments in the field of data fusion, including, but not limited to:
