WACV2020 Animal Re-Identification Workshop

Hello Animal Re-ID Enthusiasts,

We have exciting news to share with all of you. We (Graham Taylor, Tilo Burghardt, Jason Parham, Sara Beery, and Stefan Schneider) will be hosting an Animal Re-Identification Workshop during WACV2020 (March 2-5th, 2020) in Snowmass Village, Colorado. This will be a great opportunity to bring the ecological and ML communities together to celebrate and discuss all the exciting challenges in re-ID, across theimage, audio, and videodomains. We would like to encourage contributors from the machine learning community to present cutting edge research relevant to animal re-identification, whether image, video, or audio processing. We would also encourage ecologists with limited to no machine learning expertise to come and discuss their ecological research problems in an attempt to brainstorm how machine learning may be of assistance. In addition, we welcome everyone in between.

Topics that are anticipated, but are not required, include:

• Machine Learning for Human/Animal Re-Identification
• Vocal Recognition for Re-Identification
• Human/Animal Pose Estimation
• Behaviour Analysis from Audio/Video
• Data Augmentation for Limited Datasets
• Learning from Simulated Data
• Metric Learning
• One-Shot/ Zero-Shot Learning
• GPS Location Prediction
• Interpretability of AI Systems
• AI Proposals for Challenging Ecological Problems
• Making Public Ecological Datasets
• Best Practices for Data Collection and Curation

If you have any works you feel are suitable, the Paper Submission deadline isDecember 15th, 2019.

We call for papers of three categories: Contributed Papers, Extended Abstracts, and Proposals:

• Contributed Papers will be published as part of the "WACV Workshop Proceedings" and should, therefore, follow the same guideline as the main conference. Paper submission guidelines of WACV can be accessed here (https://wacv20.wacv.net/index.php/calls/).

• Extended Abstracts can be up to 4 pages in length, references not included.  This option is meant to provide a non-archival submission option for previously published work, or work that is intended to be published at a future venue. Supplementary appendices are allowed but will be read at the discretion of the reviewers.
• Proposals can be up to 2 pages in length, references not included.  This option is intended to provide a venue for experts to suggest new re-identification projects to the computer vision community for discussion or to develop collaborations. Providing new data is desired but not required.

For additional info on submission details, speakers, motivations, contact info, and more, please visit ourAnimal Re-ID Website (https://sites.google.com/corp/view/wacv2020animalreid/).

Thanks very much for considering this exciting opportunity. If you have any questions please reach out to the primary organizers Stefan and Sara found on the website.

Special Issue “Blockchain-Based Systems” Edited by Prof. Dr. Wenbing Zhao (Computers, Scopus, WOS, 50% discount)

We are pleased to inform you that  "DeliveryCoin: An IDS and
Blockchain-Based Delivery Framework for Drone-Delivered Services" has
been  published in Computers as part of the Special Issue
Blockchain-Based Systems and is available
online:https://www.mdpi.com/2073-431X/8/3/58

Abstract: In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection system (IDS)
and Blockchain-based delivery framework, called DeliveryCoin, for
drone-delivered services. The DeliveryCoin framework consists of four
phases, including system initialization phase, creating the block,
updating the blockchain, and intrusion detection phase. To achieve
privacy-preservation, the DeliveryCoin framework employs hash functions
and short signatures without random oracles and the Strong
Diffie–Hellman (SDH) assumption in bilinear groups. To achieve consensus
inside the blockchain-based delivery platform, we introduce a UAV-aided
forwarding mechanism, named pBFTF. We also propose an IDS system in each
macro eNB (5G) for detecting self-driving network attacks as well as
false transactions between self-driving nodes. Furthermore, extensive
simulations are conducted, and results confirm the efficiency of our
proposed DeliveryCoin framework in terms of latency of blockchain
consensus and accuracy.

Title: Principles and Applications of Narrowband Internet of Things

About the Book

Internet of things (IoT) is an emerging new technology which has utilities in almost all areas of engineering and science. IoT was started as a value added service over the mobile cellular networks. However, very fast it became a pervasive technology which can assist in all leading areas of engineering. In the modern digital ecosystem, IoT is the main technology which would facilitate the connected living paradigm. Industry 4.0 which is regarded as the fourth and the largest industrial revolution in modern human civilization is possible only over an IoT framework. In addition to the IoT, several emerging networks are disrupting the current technology markets. These networks are going to play big roles on the lives of people and businesses across the world. For instance, 5G will change the information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem dramatically. In combination with IoT, 5G is going to change the social landscape to a large extent. However, the research is not going to stop at 5G. Beyond 5G technologies in ICT are already been researched and the progress will continue. Narrowband IoT (NBIoT) is a low power wide area version of the IoTs which needs fewer resources than other forms of IoTs. Therefore it is very much suitable for the large scale deployment of IoTs for the large projects such as smart cities, Industry 4.0, and other large deployments. This can be considered as a greener version of the IoTs. It has a large potential in the long term. Its applications are also pervasive. This is the main motivation for its deeper studies, research, and deployments.

Objectives:

The objective of this book is to provide an in-depth understanding on the recent advances on NBIoT, its architecture, deployment issues, and its applications. In addition to the NBIoT, this book would also consider the recent topics on emerging low power IoT networks which are in focus due to their important roles. Submissions should clearly identify how they relate to topics under consideration in this book. Contributions describing an overall working system of NBIoT and reporting real world deployment experiences are particularly of interest. Submitted chapters should contain state-of-the-art research material presented in a clear and easily readable style while adhering to the IGI Global book chapter rules. Thus all the chapters must adhere to the IGI Global book chapter formats with the word limits between 10000 and 12000.

Scope of the Book:
