Scope

The increasing environmental costs and growing customer pressure for eco-friendly products lead many companies and supply chains to look at sustainability as a new measure of competitiveness. In practice, sustainable mobility can include projects to reduce environmental costs and any form of waste through implementation of innovative green technologies within supply chain. More general view involves a close collaboration among supply chain partners to design and implement more efficient and eco-friendly transport, products, packaging, reverse logistics, warehousing.

The goal of the Sustainable Solutions not only in Mobility of Goods conference is to provide a platform for discussion about achieving a more sustainable balance between economic, environmental and social objectives in the area of transport, logistics, marketing and supply chain management. The conference will be focused not only on business and industry, but other areas of sustainable mobility

Call for Posters

Authors who wish to present their work as posters are required to submit a one-page PDF with a title and an abstract of their work (not the poster itself). Submissions should preferably represent early work that is not yet ready for submission to a refereed conference or journal, or describe a technical (non-marketing) innovation. Authors of accepted posters are expected to prepare and present their posters.

Authors are encoraged to sumbit posters either as a part of their paper, or even as a stand-alone work.

Call for Demos

Technology demos are encouraged. Authors who wish to present a technology prototype are required to submit a one-page PDF with a title and a description of their work. Submissions should preferably represent technological innovations in the making. Submitters of accepted demos are expected to present the demo at the conference.

Paper Submission

All submissions must describe original research, not published or currently under review for another workshop, conference, or journal. The papers should be formatted according to the Springer Author Guidelines (Word or Latex). The submissions should be made through the Confy system.

All the submissions will be reviewed anonymously by at least three expert reviewers. Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal.

Publications

Accepted papers will be published in the SGSC 2015 Conference Proceedings and by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST). The proceedings will be available both in book form and via the SpringerLink digital library, which is one of the largest digital libraries online and covers a variety of scientific disciplines.

 

The proceedings are submitted for inclusion to the leading indexing services:

ICINCO 2015 welcomes the submission of position papers whose deadline is set for next April 15.
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics.

Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support.

Special session at INNS Big Data “Soft computing methods in large-scale content-based image retrieval”

Up to now the only way to search vast collections of images and video which are generated every day in tremendous amount is by keywords and meta tags or by just browsing them. Emergence of content-based image retrieval (CBIR) in 1990s enabled automatic retrieval of images to a certain extent. The goal can be searching for similar images to the query image, classification of the query image or retrieving images of a certain class. Such content-based image matching remains challenging problem of computer science as large multimedia datasets generate big data to analyze. Image matching consists in two relatively difficult tasks: identifying objects on images and fast searching through large collections of identified objects. Identifying objects on images is still a challenge as the same objects and scenes can be viewed under different imaging conditions. There are many previous work dedicated to such formed problem. Some of them bases on color representation, textures, shape or edge detectors. Recently local invariant features has gained wide popularity. To find similar images to a query one, we need to compare all local features descriptors of all images usually by some distance measure. Such a comparison is enormously time consuming and there is ongoing research to speed up the process. Yet the current state-of-the-art in case of high dimensional, computer vision applications is not fully satisfactory. The literature presents countless methods and variants. Mostly they are based on some form of approximate search. One of the solutions of the problem can be hashing descriptor vectors. The session will focus on application of different soft computing techniques in content-based image retrieval and classification, such us:

  • fuzzy image annotation,
  • fuzzy similarity measures for visual feature matching,
  • soft computing methods to visual data cleaning,
  • soft computing methods for fast feature comparing,
  • novel soft computing algorithms and structures for CBIR,
  • soft computing methods for visual objects and image classification,
  • evolutionary algorithms for CBIR,
  • and other topics on large scale CBIR.

Paper Submission

Please submit you paper by March 22, 2015.

  • Prospective authors should submit a full-length draft manuscript (8 pages), including figures, tables and references using the Procedia Computer Science Standard template (available here) without page numbers.
  • The full papers should be submitted in PDF format to the INNS-BigData’2015 EasyChair online submission website: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=innsbigdata2015, please remember to choose the track: Special Session on Soft computing methods in large-scale content-based image retrieval.
  • Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into Procedia Computer Science and indexed by Scopus.
  • All papers submitted to INNS-BigData’2015 will be checked for plagiarism including self-plagiarism. If a paper is found to fall in the category of plagiarism, the paper will be automatically rejected. A list of Authors of the papers identified in the category of plagiarism will be forwarded to Elsevier.
  • After the Conference, a selected number of Best Papers will be expanded and revised for possible inclusion in Special Issues of Big Data Research journal.

2015 NAFIPS Annual Conference and 5th World Conference on Soft Computing

Many thanks to those who have submitted papers for NAFIPS’2015 by the original deadline of March 6. We will try our best to send you referee reports by March 28, as planned.

 

We hope to have an exciting conference, with – as usual – many interesting talks.

 

Several authors asked for a few weeks of extension. If you need this extension, please submit your paper as soon as possible, but not later than by March 31. March 31 is an absolute deadline: we need to send the papers to the referees and, if accepted, give authors some time to revise, and we get the final versions by April 25!

 

Remember: papers for special sessions should be sent directly to the special session organizers by email, general papers should be send via a website.

 

As usual, accepted papers will be posted in IEEE IExplore. IEEE is very strict about formats, so please take formatting seriously.

The 34th Annual Conference of NAFIPS (North American Fuzzy

Information Processing Society) will be held jointly with the 5th

World Conference on Soft Computing, at DigiPen Institute of

Technology,  a dedicated, world-renowned leader in education and

research in computer interactive technologies, located in Redmond,

Washington. Redmond is a paradise for both outdoor enthusiasts and

city lovers with its new town center. As the home of Microsoft, it

is one of the world’s most important technology hubs. It is a

gateway to Bellevue’s upscale living, Seattle’s vibrant

attractions, Washington’s wine country, and the Natural Wonders of

the Cascade range.

 

Aims and Scope

 

As a truly unique and international conference in the areas of

fuzzy sets and soft computing, 2015 NAFIPS meeting will bring
