ACM Multimedia 2024 Turoial: call for proposal – Submission deadline: June 3, 2024

ACM Multimedia is the premier international conference in the area of multimedia within the field of computer science. Multimedia research focuses on technologies that enable the use and exchange of content integrating the multiple perspectives of different digital modalities, including images, text, video, audio, speech, music, and sensor data.

Tutorials are an important part of a quality conference program. We are soliciting high-quality proposals for tutorials to be held in conjunction with ACM Multimedia 2024. Tutorials will address the state-of-the-art of research and development and provide a comprehensive overview of specific topics in multimedia. Tutorials can come in different focuses, depending on the area covered. A good tutorial should be educational and instructive to provide an in-depth introduction of particular pieces of work rather than just a cursory survey of techniques. It should also be of sufficient relevance and importance to attract significant interest from a wide audience in the multimedia community.

Detailed instructions for submitting a proposal can be found at https://2024.acmmm.org/tutorial-proposals.

****Submission deadline: June 3, 2024

Best regards!

CISIS2024 – Special Session on Artificial Intelligence for Protecting the Internet of Things – JCR-indexed journals

* PLEASE CIRCULATE this CFP among your colleagues and students.

Special Session on Artificial Intelligence for Protecting the Internet
of Things
under the frame of the
17th International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Security
for Information Systems
Salamanca (Spain), 9th-11th October 2024

http://cisisconference.eu/accepted-special-sessions/

SCOPE

The Internet of Things (IoT) is everywhere, with devices and networks
gathering and communicating information in many different domains at
present time. These comprise varied and critical environments such as
industrial, health, security and domestic, among others. On the other
hand, comparatively, scarce resources have been applied so far to
protect such resources and communications which carry relevant and
critical information. In parallel, Artificial Intelligence (AI) can
nowadays be considered a consolidated technology that is being applied
to a wide variety of domains, comprising the many brand-new applications
that are daily proposed in the present hype. Among these domains, AI has
also been successfully applied to develop virtual sensors, gain insights
from sensor and/or device data, and many others. To fill the gap, this
special session is aimed at presenting innovative applications of
Artificial Intelligence for protecting IoT assets.

Invitation to collaborate to the First Workshop on Expressive Encounters at ECCV 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We are thrilled to announce the First Workshop on Expressive Encounters, to be held on the 29th of September at the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV). This workshop aims to delve into the cutting-edge developments in the integration of virtual embodied agents and robots into our daily lives, exploring their roles as receptionists, home assistants, personal trainers, and much more.

Our workshop focuses on designing these agents to be not only functionally complex and useful but also understandable and socially appropriate. Drawing inspiration from human-human interactions, we seek to develop generative models and evaluation methods for socially appropriate non-verbal behaviours, taking into account cultural and personal factors.

Key Workshop Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: 19th July

  • Notification of Acceptance: 9th August

  • Workshop: 29th September (AM)

Workshop Topics Include:

  • Multimodal data processing for gesture generation

  • Real-time gesture generation techniques

  • Incorporating personal factors into gesture generation

  • Transfer learning and transformer techniques for human-agent interactions

  • Multimodal data modelling for detecting human trust and openness towards embodied agents

We invite researchers to submit their contributions and join us in advancing the development of real-world applications involving virtual embodied agents and robots. The workshop will feature invited talks and provide a platform to exchange ideas with experts in academia and industry and contribute to the future of human-agent interaction.

For more information about submission guidelines and workshop details, please visit our workshop website.

We look forward to your participation and contribution to the workshop!
