IEEE NorCAS 2024 Special Sessions and Tutorials deadline extended

The deadline for tutorial and special session proposals has been extended, see below.

 

The 2024 IEEE Nordic Circuits and Systems Conference (NorCAS) will take place in

Lund, Sweden on October 29-30, 2024. The conference will be co-sponsored

by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and Tampere University. The submission system

is now open and the submission deadline in on August 15, 2024. See the attached CFP.

 

Special Sessions for NorCAS 2024 can be proposed by June 15, 2024 by June 19, 2024 (extended)

by email to norcas@tuni.fi. They will be added to the paper submission system once approved

by the conference management. It is then the responsibility of the session organizers to

promote their session.

 

To propose a Special Session, send the proposed session title/topic, organizer(s) name,

affiliation and email, a short paragraph on the rationale of the session, and the names

and email addresses of five proposed (PhD level) reviewers for the papers submitted to

the session. We expect at least one of the organizers to participate in the conference to

chair the session if accepted.

 

Special Session papers will undergo similar reviews as any other papers submitted to the

conference, and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore database.

 

We also take proposals for half-day tutorials (at 13-17 on Monday October 28, net time about 3h),

on timely digital, analog/mixed-signal, communications, or System-on-Chip topics. The deadline is

the same as for special sessions. Please describe the title, rationale and content briefly, and provide

a short biography of the tutorial instructor(s).

papers will conform to the LCN Conference requirements and will be

Accepted papers of the special track will be part of the IEEE LCN
proceedings and IEEE Xplore. All published papers must include title,
complete contact information for all authors, abstract, and keywords on
the cover page. IEEE reserves the right to remove papers from IEEE
Xplore that are not presented at the conference. Please visit the links

Following the success of the previous editions of the Workshop on Computer VISion for ART Analysis held in 2012, `14, `16, `18, `20, `22, we present VISART VII. VISART will continue its role as a forum for the presentation, discussion, and publication of Computer Vision (CV) techniques for the understanding of art. The explosion in the generative art, digitization of artworks, and digitally-born art highlights the importance of application in the overlap between CV and art; such as ways to reason, connecting language, structuring data (i.e. databases) for Art to Cultural Heritage.

As with the prior edition, VISART VII offers two tracks:

1. Computer Vision for Art – technical work (standard ECCV submission, 14 page excluding references, appearing in proceedings)
2. Uses and Reflection of Computer Vision for Art (Extended abstract, 4 page, excluding references, NOT appearing in proceedings)

New in this edition of the VISART Workshop we introduce a panel session with renowned experts from Computer Vision and Digital Humanities.

The recent explosion in the digitisation of artworks highlights the concrete importance of application in the overlap between CV and art; such as the automatic indexing of databases of paintings and drawings, or automatic tools for the analysis of cultural heritage. Such an encounter, however, also opens the door both to a wider computational understanding of the image beyond photo-geometry, and to a deeper critical engagement with how images are mediated, understood or produced by CV techniques in the `Age of Image-Machines' (T. J. Clark). Submissions to our first track should primarily consist of technical papers, our second track, therefore encourages critical essays or extended abstracts from art historians, artists, cultural historians, media theorists and computer scientists.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together leading researchers in the fields of computer vision and the digital humanities with art and cultural historians and artists, to promote interdisciplinary collaborations, and to expose the hybrid community to cutting-edge techniques and open problems on both sides of this fascinating area of study.

This workshop in conjunction with ECCV 2024, calls for high-quality, previously unpublished, works related to Computer Vision and Cultural History. Submissions for both tracks should conform to the ECCV 2024 proceedings style and will be double-blind peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. In today’s world, connected systems, social networks, and mobile communications create a massive flow of data, which is prone to cyberattacks. This needs fast and accurate detection of cyber-attacks. Intelligent systems and Data analytics are important components when issues pertaining to effective security solutions become the subject of discussion. This is because there is an impending need for high volume and high velocity data from different sources to detect anomalies as soon as they are discovered. This will help reduce significantly the vulnerability of the systems as well as improve their resilience to cyber Attacks. The capability to process large volumes of information at real time through utilization of tools for data analytics has many advantages vital for analysis of cybersecurity systems. Moreover, the data collected from sophisticated intelligent systems, cloud systems, networks, sensors, computers, intrusion detection systems could be used to identify vital information. This information could be used to detect how vulnerable the systems are to risk factors, and so effective cyber security solutions can be developed. In addition to that, the utilization of data analytics tools in the cybersecurity field gives new insights through considering factors such as zero-day attack detection, real time analysis, resource constrained data processing among others.

The Intelligent Cybersecurity Conference (ICSC) addresses the use of advanced intelligent systems in providing cybersecurity solutions in many fields, and the challenges, approaches, and future directions. We invite the submission of original papers on all topics related to Intelligent Systems for Cybersecurity, with special interest in but not limited to:

  Submissions Guidelines and Proceedings

Manuscripts should be prepared in 10-point font using the IEEE 8.5″ x 11″ two-column format. All papers should be in PDF format, and submitted electronically at Paper Submission Link. A full paper can be up to 8 pages (including all figures, tables and references). Submitted papers must present original unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other conference or journal. Papers not following these guidelines may be rejected without review. Also submissions received after the due date, exceeding length limit, or not appropriately structured may also not be considered. Authors may contact the Program Chair for further information or clarification. All submissions are peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted papers will appear in the ICSC Proceeding, and be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services and be submitted to IEEE Xplore for inclusion.

Submitted papers must include original work, and must not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Submission of regular papers up to 8 pages and must follow the IEEE paper format. Please include up to 7 keywords, complete postal and email address, and fax and phone numbers of the corresponding author. Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work at the conference. Submitted papers that are deemed of good quality but that could not be accepted as regular papers will be accepted as short papers. Length of short papers can be between 4 to 6 pages.
