Emerging Techniques in Computational Intelligence – International Conference

Considering that most COVID related restrictions are lifted or in process of being lifted in India the host country, including opening of colleges and hostels, it is confirmed that all presentations of accepted papers from participants within the country will be in physical, i.e. in-person, mode. However, the overall Conference will be in Hybrid mode, facilitating some remote Keynote Lectures, Tutorials and Competitions, and also virtual presentations of accepted papers from outside the country due to international travel restrictions that could remain in place.

conocidos.

Cualquier

AI for Content Creation (AICC) Workshop @ CVPR 2021

AI for Content Creation (AICC) Workshop @ CVPR 2021

Submissions due March 8th 2021 11:59 PST: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/AICC2021/

The AI for Content Creation (AICC) workshop at CVPR 2021 brings together researchers in computer vision, machine learning, and AI. Content creation has several important applications ranging from virtual reality, videography, gaming, and even retail and advertising. The recent progress of deep learning and machine learning techniques allows us to potentially turn hours of manual, painstaking content creation work into minutes or seconds of automated work. For instance, generative adversarial networks (GANs) have been used to produce photorealistic images of items such as shoes, bags, and other articles of clothing, interior/industrial design, and even computer games' scenes. Learned priors can also be combined with explicit geometric constraints, allowing for realistic and visually pleasing solutions to traditional problems such as novel view synthesis.

We call for papers (8 pages not including references) and extended abstracts (4 pages not including references) to be showcased in a poster session. Authors of accepted papers and extended abstracts will be asked to post their submissions on arXiv. To foster a free exchange of ideas, we will accept work in progress, work that has not been published elsewhere, and work that has been recently published elsewhere including at CVPR 2021.

We seek contributions on a variety of aspects on content creation, including:

– Image and video for enthusiast, VFX, architecture, advertisements, art

– 2D/3D graphic design

– Text and typefaces

– Design for documents, Web

– Fashion, garments, and outfits

– Novel applications and datasets

IJCB-MFR-2021: Masked Face Recognition Competition at the International Joint Conference on Biometrics IJCB 2021

Dear Colleagues,

I am glad to invite you to participate in the IJCB Masked face recognition competition (MFR-2021).

The competition is organized in association with the International Joint Conference on Biometrics IJCB 2021 (http://ijcb2021.iapr-tc4.org/)

Short information:

Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to enable contactless and smooth-running operations, especially in contact-sensitive facilities like airports. Face recognition has been preferred as a contactless means of verifying identities. However, wearing masks is now essential to prevent the spread of contagious diseases and has been currently forced in public places in many countries. The performance, and thus the trust on contactless identity verification through face recognition can be impacted by the presence of a mask.  The effect of wearing a mask on face recognition in a collaborative environment is currently a sensitive issue. The MFR competition is the first to attract and present technical solutions that enhance the accuracy of masked face recognition on real face masks and in a collaborative face verification scenario.  All participants, who achieve competitive results, will be invited as co-authors for a summary paper of MFR. The paper will submit IJCB 2021.

Competition details: https://sites.google.com/view/ijcb-mfr-2021/home

Conference details: http://ijcb2021.iapr-tc4.org/

Open online course on Probabilistic Morphable Models

Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the University of Basel will offer a free online course on probabilistic morphable models, starting on 1. March 2021.

Probabilistic Morphable Models are an approach for model-based image analysis based on the analysis-by-synthesis paradigm.  The theoretical basis consists of two main concepts:

  • Gaussian processes modelling shape variations within a population
  • Bayesian inference with Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods for model fitting.

The theoretical concepts will be illustrated and applied in practical examples and projects from the domain of medical image analysis and face modelling, using the open source software Scalismo (https://scalismo.org).

This course is composed of two parts:

  1. An  open online course on  “Statistical Shape Modelling” , starting  1. March 2021 on FutureLearn

https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/statistical-shape-modelling

  1. A follow-up  open online course on Probabilistic fitting, starting  27. April 2021

https://shapemodelling.cs.unibas.ch/pmm2021

The course is free of charge. Please visit https://shapemodelling.cs.unibas.ch/pmm2021/  for more information.

Best regards,

Marcel Lüthi
